Heathmans of London Circa late1984....an 82 Silver Countach S, a red 84 5000S and a yellow ultra rare Silhouette

Have a soft spot for the silver Countach S 152X because it was the first one I saw in the flesh when it was brand new and parked in the showroom at Cooper Cars in Syston, Leicester, was absolutely gorgeous. Am sure it was 1981 when I took the photos, though was unregistered at that point. Have posted the photos on here somewhere!

Apparently the new owner parked it in his hotel for all to see before it was sold on it's next owner who took me for a blast round in it a few years later.

Fast forward a few years and I nearly bought in the mid 1990s when I spotted a private advert in the Sunday Times advertised for 35K, I went down to look at it near Tower Bridge in London. It looked very tired and dusty when it emerged from the underground car-park compared to how I remembered it - there was a hosepipe ban on at the time, (the owner mentioned on the phone that it had sat in a museum for a few years so I was expecting it to be immaculate), the owner did take me a spin out in it which was quite spectacular, especially when he did a 'U' turn near Tower Bridge.

I later spotted it for sale a few months later by a dealer up north who was selling it for £30K which was too late for me because I'd already committed my money elsewhere - think I went and bought a Range Rover. Was pretty gutted because if the dealer was advertising it for £30K I'm guessing he would have paid £25K or less for it... damn...

Seem to recollect it was advertised for sale in South Africa a few years ago with quite a few spare parts including a replacement gear lever, and a pair of mole drips being used in the meantime, that must have been fun when changing gear!

Oh well...

1982 MTC Cars. It was looking pretty tired by the mid 90's when I last saw it at Nigel Mansell's Ferrari dealership.

Yes, here is the silver Countach LP400S at Nigel Mansell Sportscars at Pimperne near Blandford in Dorset in 1993. The black RHD Daytona next to it was being gradually restored over a very long time - whenever the owner came up with some money, they would do a load of work on it. Then it would sit for a while... etc

BTW I apologise for the copyright guff on my photos - please blame an American Lamborghini dealer who reposts my photos dozens of times heaven knows where.

Continuing with Miuras, this was taken at Classic Autos in Armoury Way in London, who sold this as a 1000km Ferrari 288GTO in quick succession....

My favorite photos are the groups of cars at Portman's Service Centre - I never saw large groups of brand new cars [e.g. Maurice posted a group of brand new Anniversarys earlier, which is great].If anyone has any more groups of new cars, please do post them.

Here are two from Portman in 1991 and 1992 and one from a Lambo Club UK pub meeting in Windlesham in 1991 (note the blue RHD LP400 hidden at the end and the yellow RHD Miura SV):

Slightly topical, I came upon this advert from 1995 while flicking through a stash of old magazines earlier.

Amazing Grouping!!!! Black SV Miura was Ray Beverly's (LAM130). Ex Lambo Club Chairman (1980's). The Yellow P400 periscopa was restored and Mike Perry sold it on in 1992/3 to eventually be with Toby Smith (from Jamiroquai), then Toby sold it on years later. The Black U.S spec QV is now at Macari's and once belonged to Alvin Fan (a really nice guy), who bought it in California originally in the 1980's, That's his Anniversary there too in the picture A6FAN infant. Great pics!!!

Exactly my thoughts assuming it's the same car. I've only ever seen it as brown, usually at the Castle Combe events. Looks fantastic in purple and predated the SE30 purple colour.

Back to the original colour. Looks amazing! I went to see him over Christmas and the car is stunning in its current hue...Check it out in the Jermey Coulter World Supercars Lamborghini Countach book, when it had FJB1 reg and an early type rear wing! Stunner!

Did he change the colour or is this just the light? I'd never even thought it changed colour.

Here is the original colour: it's called something like Luci Del Bosco ["lights of the forest"].

These aren't my photos BTW:

Actually, now you mention it, could the apparent colour change be due to aged photos, unless anyone knows for certain that the colour was purple at some time.

This photo was taken at the end of the road in Parson's Green where Heathmans, Julius Thurgood, Exoticar etc were all based. Clearly someone had just sold a beige RHD Espada and a Ferrari 308GTB!
