My old Lambo photos from the 90s

That will be this one I think. For some reason I think his name was something like Lee Miller. This was taken at Silverstone 1997.

Actually talking of old Top Gear does anyone recall them doing the test drives of the Countach QV and Testarossa together around 1985/86?
Would love to see that again.

I still have that Top Gear "supercars for commoners" episode on videotape, another one waiting to be digitised. It was one of the few times Andy Wilman presented a TG segment, he came across quite well.
The red 308 was owned by a young joiner with a mullet and very pretty girlfriend. He lived at home with his mum to afford it. I think it had oversized Compomotive alloys at the time and was mint.
The Aston V8 was silver I think and looking a bit rough, and kept the owner, wife and kids looking like they had been outfitted in a charity shop with haircuts by the local council. The clip showed him doing sprints in it then the camera switched to them sitting on a rather threadbare sofa in a small front room. What an inspiration, just what I would do.
The orange Lambo Uracco was the best bit, the owner (Jeff) told how he bought the car for 4 grand, or roughly everything he owned at the time. I spoke to him years later when he was selling the car, it was very rusty but he wasnt asking a fortune for it. He said he was retiring to Thailand with the funds. The car was plate-raped for "698R" and then restored to a high standard after reverting to an N reg.
I think there was also a young guy who had spent 15 grand on a blue Urraco without an engine, and had to live with his parents while he saved up for a new one.
All the above people deserve our respect!
Gosh yes please put it somewhere so we can see it. I remember it well. This, and that article I posted made me, as a 28 year old living in a leicester council estate with an Aston DBS V8 and a knackerd Mondeo. I think the aston owner was David Such, who still races the same car today. The red 308 was owned by a young joiner with a mullet and very pretty girlfriend. Yes, if I remember correctly, both red cars. Was it William Woollard in one of the cars? Scan_20170928 (16) by snapper seven, on Flickr

I for one would love to watch that episode, when did it go out?
I had a quick search on Youtube but no luck there....
re the "Supercars for plebs" TG episode;I had a quick search on Youtube but no luck there....
No its not on Youtube. My stepson has been promising to digitise it for many years, along with som other gems. Believe it or not I still have a video DVD combi player that i bought in Dixons closing down sale! If nothing else I'll set it away playing on the TV and just record the screen on my phone....redneck style!
Yes that is the ferrari 308 from the show, and the name Lee Miller rings a gong. Probably considered sacrilige now but those Compos looks quite good I think. The 90s trend for "customising" exotics started off quite subtle, usually just a set of nice big rims, then it all went pete tong in the 2000s with bodykits, Mansory and Spyker etc.
The episode was broadcast late 90s I think, definitely pre-2003 because thats when I bought my Lotus Esprit! Like many that episode inspired me to be totally feckless and I remortgaged my house to buy it! Madness? You bet, and I'm still not "well".
I think it was after the Woolard etc era, probably Clarkson/Tiff/Vicky mostly. Wilman may just have started as producer, or it may have been John Bentley (always liked him).

OK here it is, redneck style recorded from the TV using a bar stool and a camera. You might have to turn your volume up a bit!I hope Top Gear's liberal use of 1970s MOR rock doesnt twig some royalties software and get it removed. Best save it if you are bothered just in case.
Unfortunately the Aston V8 bit at the end has been clipped off, hopefully someone else might find it in their collection, or *gasp* Top Gear re-release their old episodes before the days of Compo, Clegg and Foggy.
