Dashcam in Mclaren 570 Spider
Discussion
Hello,
I've finally taken the plunge and have bought a 570 Spider - 5 more sleeps until I pick it up!
Has anyone installed a dashcam in a 570 before? How clean was the install? Don't really want lots of wires hanging out. Thinking of going for front and rear but not sure if that's practical on this car.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark.

Plenty of fused choices, you can easily hide the wires away too. For my 570GT (mini 0805 camera, front only) I bought 2x longer USB cables which connect together and use one of USB ports in the armrest. This allows me to create my own 'parking mode' using a mobile phone battery pack connected inline. Camera stays on until the pack is discharged even after the car shuts down.
Not a spider, but I have fitted one to my 540C. Front facing only but would also like a rear one.
I ran the wires to the arm rest glove compartment and just plugged in using the 12V adaptor. I did consider hard wiring it in but there isn't much benefit IMO (other than not losing the 12V in the arm rest)

I fitted one to my Spider. The wire tucks behind the trim above and to the side of the windscreen no problem.
I hard wired mine into the fusebox in the pax footwell. It is always "ON" though, I couldn't find a feed that went off with the ignition, It just means that you have to remember to switch the camera off when you leave the car and on when you enter.

Been pondering this too, unit with integral front & rear cams could be option such as below? Guess ideal spot would be off set on rear window, tho (in spider) would negate (much loved) dropping rear window function.

Hiya,
A nice, traditional McLaren Orange Arriving this Monday after full paint correction and PPF film.

Got a lovely Viofo A219 dual cam setup ready to go in though still stumped where the rear camera is going until I do a good delve. Also tucking the wiring out of the way ... hmm .. bit hesitant to pull off the interior bits. Sure Mclaren Bristol would do it but the hourly cost ... ugg
Not sure I want to drain the regular battery given the stories about charging etc. so got a good battery pack for parking mode.
Can't believe no one else has one installed?

I have front & rear camera in my 12c Spider. I fixed front camera on rear panel between seats looking foreword & rear mounted on small shelf against window, does not interfere with dropping rear window and only wire showing is directly down to socket in armrest.
Maybe similar could be done in 570 coupe but rear camera would need to be at top of window ?
