1975 Series 111 Lamborghini Espada on Collecting Cars,

Love the period colour although not sure if i would have said that when it was new.,amazing now taste change,

Interior looks nice and original , elephant in the room is what do you do about that automatic gearbox,

If a classic Mustang no problem, just whack a Tremec in for a few thousand,

At £22,250 at the moment with 5 days to go.

Any Espada manual box's on Face Book market place at the moment rolleyes

No doubt someone 'in the know' can source one. I guess the question is the impact on originality in the future? A much nicer way to appreciate that V12 though for sure.
On another note I recall a red Espada round the corner from me which lived on the driveway all year round. This was twenty years ago but I'm sure plenty of cars from that era experienced their forgotten years.

Would an auto from 1975 been a 3 speed?

How much to restore it though? Has to be the wrong side of 100 grand. Couldn't live with that auto box either. Interesting project for someone

Nobody wanted them back in the day considering them a dinosaur with no value to them to encourage owners

spending money on them ,result a lot of tired Espada's laying around, Why would you with Countachs priced as little as £25K/£30K.

Its only the last few years owners have the confidence to put money into these underrated Lanborghini's when prices skyrocked

on the other models namely the Countach,

3 speed Chysler box, so few auto's were built wasn't worth Lamborghini developing their own .

The same seller of the brown 1975 Series 111 has another Series 111, a 1974 in yellow. See Coming Soon listings.

I wonder what just the engine is worth on these and whether you could use it in a two seater v12?

Not sure but these days anything is possible just as long as cost doesn't overway the end product,

This Espada looks to good and at a awkward price to rob bits from being neither cheap or expensive,

My old car with it's Miura wheels, decent engine an box but everything else well past their sell by date would

be ideal canidate for a transplant to another model,

Maybe just me but not the best colour for a Espada, wonder if it's the orginal one, have my doubts ,

Could always repaint to a more suitable Espada colour if cheap enough though.

Just had a look on Bonhams web site ,I thought i recognised it from somewhere but wasn't til i read the write up that i

realised it's the Espada that Ant Hawke the chairman of the Lamborghini Club UK owned , before him Colin Clarke who bought my

Espada, He was always working on it ,on going project ,remember seeing it at his house along with his other Espada and two Jalpa's when i

took my Jalpa there for him to work on., With some help from him maybe i could have finished my Espada if i had known him then,

I stored your old Jarama for him and he took me out in it when i was just down the road from him in Birdham ,

Thanks that is interesting. The Bonhams one looks somehow more attractive than the yellow one, though I have not analysed either in any detail.
Either one will need quite a bit I suspect.

Ant did all the work himself and had some good contacts for parts and he never finished it,looks like the next owner

didn't do much better, mindfield comes to mind but at least there is some value to them now to throw some

money at them, but look like they don't sell overnight, maybe should have bought the brown car and robbed the manual

gearbox out of one of these, scratchchin

The yellow 1974 series 111 Espada sold on Collecting Cars tonight for £26,350,

Don't think they come much cheaper than this or do they ????

Probably a tin of worms but a worthwhile project with the right gearbox this time,

Mine was so much worse , this one looks like it's ready for the Salon Prive compared .
