Great.
What’d you give for an immaculate RHD 5000s, 1984, 46,000 km?
If we can agree a price, I can deliver tomorrow once money received.

Pistonheads deserves a healthy commission here.

Cars not my bag but I would definitely buy it in your shoes.

Rarity and provenance equals desirability.

You seem to know more than me, you seem upset with my post, which is beyond me. Does it really matter whether he decides to part with it tomorrow or in 2023 /24. Surely it affects you less than me, yet you seem more bothered than me?

I think I'll leave you to stew, thank you for the responses. I'm out now.
Not bothered at all but dont see point of your irrelevant question at this point of time which may or may not ever happen.

Today's market will be completely different to tomorrows. If it shoots up in next few years are you going to pay market value then ? Its a moving feast and any comments are only relevant to today

I think we can assume Curledge (previous incarnations notwithstanding) knows that given his eagerness to snap up this little beauty

Yes, I will pay market value, he's my mate, I wouldn't want any favours or want to rip him off. I really don't get why you are struggling with this concept, and why you seem so bothered.
Just go and buy the one for sale on PH at the moment if you have cash waiting. I just want my mates as I like it.
You have done very well to be able to afford one at such a young age.

Happy to respond to others but I learnt many years ago that internet disagreements and pettiness are totally pointless so no more responses to Curledge, but feel free to keep stewing and posting smile

I’m unsure of the purpose of this thread - you seem very keen to talk about buying a Countach, and rather than doing so, saying people are bothered, disagreeing, petty etc., which they don’t seem to be at all. You seem to want attention.

If you want to buy a Countach, go on and do so - there are lots for sale. As your friend’s car will take 2 years until you buy it, I wouldn’t say today you are a serious buyer. Anyone can talk about buying one in 2 years.

Like so many of the value based questions on here, there isn't really, only speculation. In this case it is even trickier because nobody knows the starting point.

"at possibly the greatest ever time of car price fluctuations, I am interested in what people think the value of a car some distance into the future might be relative to what it will be at an unspecified but shorter distance into the future"

The people that like Countachs will all be dead soon - price goes down
Petrol cars are a thing of the past - price goes massively up? Stays the same? Goes down?
Enthused by the success of the Urus, Lamborghini become the worlds largest seller of SUVs, family saloons and hatchbacks, what then?

Like all threads of this type, if you want it then buy it to enjoy.

Personally I think that the dead soon thing is somewhat over done because numbers are so small and some young people like old cars, just as some like ABBA.

The Countach is essentially an 80s car.
Look at the age of the top 10 cars sold at auction (and when they sold), 10th down to top:

1955 - 2016
1935 - 2018
1956 - 2017
1964 - 2014
1967 - 2013
1956 - 2015
1954 - 2013
1962 - 2014
1962 - 2018

Just an arbitrary example for the sake of illustration, could easily swap out for...

As some examples succumb to age there is a smaller number available - price goes up

or any other 'if this/if that/up/down' - my point really was that there is no real advice, just speculation.
If you like Countach and dread your own mortality, I didn't mean you, I meant the others, you will live forever!

going to see it a week Saturday with an expert, we can talk figures as well.
I guess some will roll eyes and tell me I'm bizarre and a liar. But I really don't know what they want me to do. Maybe threaten him to sell it quicker. For me I just want a good relationship with my mate

Get and read Peter Dron's book 'Lamborghini Countach: The Complete Story (Autoclassics)'. Cheap on eBay. He knows what he is talking about and does not need to have a TV channel.
