All I can say is that my Cali (Chrysler) sat nav got me to 7 European hotel destinations through 2000 miles of driving pleasure. The proofs in the pudding, I used the "My trip" function, entered all the destinations the night before, it was so easy, so for those of you who knock this unit without trying all the functions or have doubt, try again.....it really does work.

Completely disagree about the satnavs. I have the Ferrari Becker units in my 16m and 599gto, many times they've got me through Italy etc without fuss whilst my wife in an LP560 spyder with full screen colour Audi nav got lost.
as long as you can get home to diss !

Nope, you are wrong the 918 is faster better built by a big margin and will hold its price better. The P1 is just 12c in drag...
Calling Apolo, calling apolo.

It seems the P1 is actually quicker than the 918.

For a fairer comparison you should have a man in both the Ferrari and Lambo drivers seats.

Sorry for the thread ressurection but I am looking for a Spyder for a friend.

List was £195 without options
2013 models trading around the £170 mark

So, 2 years from now the 2013 model will have a trade in value of around £95k?

The 2012 coupe is selling privately for just under £100 so in 2 years time I would expect these to be going for around the £75-90k

Is that about right or well wide of the mark?

Where have you seen 2012 coupes going for under £100k?

Im guessing he's meaning this one...

BUT it's ex VAT, so it's really £114k, similar to this one at £119k.

Still, heck of a lot of car for the money!

these cars are the higher end of the mileage scale too... I think you are still looking at 120-125k for a low mileage, good spec 2012 car.

Am always a bit wary commenting on values as I don't like to be perceived to be talking up my car's value.. and albeit having a bit of a vested interest, I have some difficulty seeing 12C coupes going below 100k anytime soon, much less spiders while the majority of 430 coupes are listed from 70-80k.

I know a friend sold a 10k mile early 2012 coupe for ~125k last november for example. While the 650 certainly will put a dent on the 12C prices the earlier cars have fallen to a point (110-130k) where enough people are interested in a car with the level of performance of the 12C and the depreciation does level off to something a bit more reasonable. That being said I admit I would hate to have to ask for a trade bid on my car at the moment.....

I can't see the 650S denting the 12C prices that much. I have an order down for a 650S after my 12C was written off (so I am not trying to big up 12C price), but would I have paid the £100k to upgrade normally??? hard question to answer. the 650S is a step on, but I think it might highlight what a relative bargain 12C's have become.

Think you're probably right in terms of the 2011/2012 cars that are already sitting <150k. The cost to change up is too great for those. The 650S probably accelerates the late 2013 car towards the earlier car levels though (like the 50th anniversary cars that came rather well specced and the very late 2013 cars... Those that didn't get them at decent discounts probably are feeling a bit aggrieved I guess thinking the 12C would have remained in existence for a while.

650 will bolster the values of 12C in much the same way as the 458 did for the 430 IMO. plus the availability of warranty extensions will further strengthen 12C values, at £120k they are a complete bargain.

I think the bigger picture with all these 150-200k cars is that the market is saturated at this level. We have the 458, new Lambo, the 12c and now the 650. I think the market is diluted and most mass production super cars (relatively speaking) will head south quickly.

Agree 100% with Apollo. I owned 2 MP4 12c. The first was too unreliable. Lost my shirt on the second one - and they continue to plummet . Really glad I got out.

Having said that I bought a 458 spider and that isn't fairing well now they are discounting! Moral in the story is market has changed and new prices of Supercars are too high unless you don't worry about residuals / many say they don't but to be happy at loosing 50k in a year you need to be bonkers !!
