So dealer contribution a given? to quote the brochure...."The Recommended Retail Price List is not a set final price and may be determined at the Retailer's discretion".

I was at the launch at Birmingham last week and they clearly stated there won't be any "dealer contribution" on the initial orders.

Yep can't blame them at this stage
Specing up a 570S the way I wanted it was heading close to used 650S prices wink
Then I also want a spider, which is an extra wait for who knows how long

What sort of % contributions do they 'normally' offer?

They have a max 15% dealer margin so depends how long they have had a car in stock and how desperate they are to move it on.

Not going to happen on early orders for 540/570S. Judging by demand/interest Dealers will sell their annual allocations without the need to throw money at it

I'd say wait until orders are filled then the discounts will come on new cars, that's why the McL disclaimer is in my first post

A well specced £250k list price car is roughly cost price to dealer of £215k and a low spec £230k List price car circa £200k cost but as there are very few now left in stock and future orders are "SOLD Order" only I think some of the larger discounts enjoyed in the past will stop so strike while the iron is hot if that is the case !

Used 650s are difficult enough to get hold of now and that situation is only likely to get increasingly difficult underpinning future prices. Circa 2,000 worldwide and less than 200 in the UK makes it Ferrari Limited edition rare with a Brand that is growing rapidly lick

Not true
I've had two dealers offer me a slot for a 650S built to my spec on MY16 cars.
I've also had a dealer offer to change the spec on their stock order to suit my spec.
I'm a tad confused why there seems to be a consensus they are not accepting 650S orders? confused

Well if its not sold order only there is only a finite number of build slots left. Dealers are not ordering much in the way of stock as McLaren simply aren't building them as production is moving over to 570S and 675 LT.
Of course the dealer would be delighted to amend the spec of a car already in their pipeline.

When are you actually going to buy one ? confused

Three dealers have placed stock orders for 650S spiders on the last week that I know off.
No idea when they will actually stop taking orders though confused
Didn't stop my order going through today either wink
September is a long way away frown
Apparently 540/570 orders & dealer demos are not due in dealers until November
Birmingham have taken 5 orders since Thursday evenings launch (all at list price)
Apparently they are now booking build slots for May 2016!

Cool. I had to wait a month for delivery and it seemed like eternity. Hopefully the weather will hold into September and October for you as you will want to drive it as much as possible when it arrives.
Mine was delivered at end of January and despite the weather not being the best I was desperate to get the running in mileage done asap. Over 2,000 miles on her now even with a month away ( so effectively 3 months )

What spec did you eventually go with ?

Are the 540/570 not being built on a different production line from 650/675, this was the impression given on my visits to MTC & MPC? I understood they would have total flexibility and vastly increased capacity.

I was there a while back and the 540/70s were going down the same line as the 650's. P1's were to one side but they were only using a small part of the plant.

A launch? I went to a launch for this a couple of months ago in London. why would they wait so long to show it in Birmingham?

My understanding is that London was a general launch event and then over the following months the dealers get the cars to show to their clients and prospective clients at dealer events.

Nope, not that I'm aware of. 650 production will be minimal from here on in and 675LT is 500 units over 2 years wso the main production will be 540/570S from now on.
Capacity will be increased by further shifts before another production line is introduced due to the massive overheads that incurs
