Amanda Mclaren showed me round and that was a nice touch and was a good day out plus the night out after was eventful too so win win!

I just feel the GFV offers so much protection

I reckon the finance company will be in hole to the tune of £30-40k by the time it goes back so I’ve effectively made money out of the finance company and kept my cash in other assets plus now I can rack up the mileage guilt free knowing it’s not my problem it’s the finance companies

These things are hard to shift with 20k miles on because there are so many with lower mileages you can buy instead

Try see what the biggest balloon / GFV is so your monthly payments are low as poss and so the finance company is more likely to be on the hook

Just make 100% sure it’s a genuine guaranteed future value

If I could buy a £170k car with a £150k gfv I’d jump at it like a dog. Finance is great if you get the right deal - cash buyers can lose their coat if they’re not careful

As I say the Gfv on 570s was c£115k over 3 years and 18k miles not too long ago - if they are kicking around I’d consider. If it’s like a 70k gfv then makes more sense to think about cash

Hi, I’ve never used finance to buy cars but I will definitely check out the ones with decent GFV. Is there a list of finance companies somewhere on these threads or do I just rely on mclaren dealer facilitated finance?

Taking the advice on here, I asked a broker (Oracle) about GFV and they said that Mclarens (and Bentley) were notoriously hard to get GFV's for - they wouldn't quote.

I'd rather pay cash and not have anything outstanding but also see the significant benefit of knowing there is a GFV in place incase the market drops after Brexit/Trump/whatever.

Bit of a thread revival...
I’m been considering moving from Porsche and whilst doing some homework / man maths calculations, I contacted Oracle and I can confirm they do offer GFV on both new and used McLarens.
However, having seen a new vehicle offer from a dealer, I’m sorely tempted with a new 570GT if I can find a new one in stock at the right spec and a dealer with a good finance offer

Pretty good but probably only on stock or locked in slots as they are winding down sport series production. In fact I think you slot choice is limited to 570 GT/spider or 600LT

The 570S is coming up 4 years old which makes it ancient in McLand, plus it's been at least some months since the last McLaren launch so yes, I suspect a new Sport Series is just around the corner.

From what I've read, and been told by one of the guys at McBristol, the new Sport Series will be hybrid vehicles.

Tried Hatfield and a couple of others for 570GT cars around 140K but the finance details were too much for my man maths calculator (must buy a bigger calculator next time).

A specific quote was for a GT @ £145K: 2 year PCP, £22K deposit, £1536/month and GFV of £101,700 with an APR of 6.9%.
The offer didnt feel particularly special and that APR is too high for my interest in a PCP


The deal that initially stoked my interest is on the Jardine website. After an initial positive call to the London dealer, they never called back which I took to mean that whilst the finance deal was for a specific car (540C), they had sold the car but its still on their site;

Dealer PCP rates are often rubbish unless they want to move specific cars.
I get 4% when I use it.
Good to see you got in to a 540C, great cars and and handle like a go kart
