Wait. What?

The 200K'ish car does NOT come with parking sensors?

I'd be livid at that. The rest of the fripperies, fair do's personal choice, but thats a bit fking steep.

£330 for floor mats is what stands out to me

You McLaren guys need to man up and grow a pair. Logo mats for the Huracan Performante are a cool £600 I kid you not. There are lots of other ridiculous options as well, a personal favourite is cruise control at £720.

Being a PH comes at a price...

You're right, £4,750,000 for a sports exhaust is somewhat excessive.

Ha, it depends whether you believe the video was speeded up, the tyres are made of a special compound, and whether it could be driven to the circuit and back to name but a few. One thing I do know is that the prices are utterly ridiculous for the cost of components and installation on the line or at the dealerships...

The only other comparably idiotic charge is Ferrari's for the side shields, 'you can't sell the car on without them sir...'

I'm sure everyone has their particular pet peeve, I've exhausted mine for the time being thanks but I do feel so much better for venting them...

The option that I think has been missed out is the extended paddles. I had them on my 570s and they were superb, and they are going on my 720s, but do cost £1800.00! I do wholeheartedly agree with my dealer, bloody expensive, but why would you not have them!!

That's a clever trick, the extended paddles is part of the interior carbon pack on the 570s, not an additional extra.

Not that this will matter to anyone, but the shock value of the looks is starting to fade for me, albeit slightly.

From side on the cabin still looks like Quasimodo's back. but in dark colours, the skull lights do look interesting, rather than shocking.

Anyone else feel the same? Will it become a design classic in the future a la Bangle BMWs?
Sorry but that just looks a mess....

I promised to keep mine to <£240k.............managed not to change it for a month - so will be locking it in soon.

Are you not planning to put RFL on it then ? rofl

Seems to have all the essentials and nice spec for that money. Surprised its only £20k in options as that is low.
Can see majority of cars creeping up to £260k
Spot on RL, target was £250k but too much ticking brought it to £260k exactly! eek

Second that, if anybody has one I could do with a shufti. Interested to know what the MSO Defined colours come out at.

Just rang McLaren London to book a TD but they still haven't got one in, expected soon.

Good info cheers Is.
You could always PM me the PDF through PH, if that's not too many acronyms and not too cheeky a request smile

I have my name down for an 812 but being told 2020.

If i were to get something before then at around 240k, what do people think I should go for that will give me two years of fun motoring but not destroy me residual wise come change to the 812? One of these comes to around 240k for the spec I want or the other options are:

Ferrari 488 (12 months wait)
Lambo Performante (similar or less)

Keen on the 720s but not sure how they will hold in a couple of years. Thoughts?

I think you will spark a whole bunch of comments from supporters of the particular brands with that one! However from my relatively neutral point of view, in that situation you are best off going for the 488. That will mean buying another car from Ferrari for now, which will make them happy and insure you stay on their "good list" and therefore you will get your 812 quicker. Also it is the safest bet when it comes to depreciation. Look at how well the predecessor models of all of those cars have done. 650S and Superleggera have both depreciated a fair bit, whereas 458s have not. I think all three are/will be great cars, however knowing you will be swapping in the medium future you have to pay mind to that monetary hit unless you have money to spare!

I agree with the above. I think that buying another car from Ferrari will be beneficial in the long run (they seem to take good care of people who spend money on new cars / give access to limited editions etc) and I suspect the 488 will hold value quite well - I think a Spider might do even better than the coupe

Edit: Having said that, I would prefer to own the 720 or the Lambo

From what I am hearing from my mate who is one of the leading supercar sellers in the uk, 488's are in plentiful supply and second hand realistically priced! The 720S no one knows yet, but with the enthusiasm and long waiting list I believe it will be at least as good s the 488, which many journo's think is a definite second place to the 720S. Also in the UK , I think with the £ weaker, Brexit et al I am sure many, including me, would prefer to buy British, especially when the product is at least as good as the competition, and the dealers not arrogant or haughty ala many Ferrari franchises(but not all).

Thanks for the informed responses. It is a bit of a heart vs head decision then. I want the 720s but know the 488 is the safer bet and gets me the 812 super fast (sorry!).
