Considering a 570 spider now, been offered a deal on one. Just a bit of help from those that have driven the coupe and the spider please, is the interior space the same?. I ask as I used to have a 458 italia then a spider, in the spider the rear bench intruded a few inches more into the cabin, meaning the seats in the spider would not go back as far , I reckon it was restricted by at least 2-3"compared to the italia( both had the racing seats ) and it robbed a couple of inches of legroom that made the spider just a bit too tight for me at 6'5" with a 36" inside leg.
I was ok in the 570S I had for a bit, but don't really want to even consider the spider if it has the same issue as the 458 did.
FWIW currently in a 650S with the normal power seats & fit ok in that
thanks

I'd say if you're about to drop £160,000+ on a supercar you might want to sit in one first. But the way the McLaren is designed, was as a Spider from the outset thanks to the carbon tub. So there are no additional bracing areas unlike the 458 which had plenty of them and still wobbled.I was ok in the 570S I had for a bit, but don't really want to even consider the spider if it has the same issue as the 458 did.

thanks for that beifmaster, very informative, yes strangely I would sit in the car before I buy it...but was hoping to see from those who had been in both if there was a difference as it would discount it before even getting that far,and having to deal with the salesmen etc
Not a lot of help so far , looks like a visit to the dealer then is indeed called for !

I have had a 570S coupe and now have a 570S spider both fitted with the standard non electric sports seats, I have found no difference in the legroom from one to the other, however I am only 6ft2, with an inside leg of 34 inches (the personal information you give away on forums lol) the head room is not an issue at all.
Many of the initial launch addition cars that McLaren specked for the dealer stock last year have the comfort seat package, this means the seats sit a smidge higher at the back of the seat to accommodate the electric seat motors, so you may wish to sit in one to make sure.
The spider is a fantastic option to have as you get the best of both worlds fixed coupe with the roof up, wind in the hair when its down, along with just being able to drop the rear window to hear the exhaust and turbo whistle enjoy your car shopping.
