I agree, that orange car is simply sublime. About 12 months too soon for me but I'm sure some lucky bugger will have it soon.

You mean the one that had no warranty and is already sold? smile

Exactly, similar but not the same.

No Super lightweight wheels, no carbon side blades, no Warranty. No mention of Meridian sound upgrade also.

Still a nice looking car and the new owner will be very pleased.

Such good value for money.

Ideally not from an existing owner with typically rather rose tinted views, but I'd like to ask what anyone potentially looking at one of these cars thinks of what the cars are worth at the moment? ie what you would actually consider paying for one. If anyone has an idea on where trade bids are (likely dire I realise) as well it'd be much appreciated.

Trade bids from what I've heard are anything from 75-early 90s, depending on spec and mileage.

Guy on the owners group had PX prices against a 720s of circa £80k-£90k from McDealers............he said they were circa £105k against an LT earlier in the year..........

Market has slowed generally and its winter time so trade bids are low. Was at McLaren dealer yesterday and he said just in general conversation typical early cars starting at £85k. I have no reason to disbelieve him as I think he was trying to talk down my expectations of trade in prices generally as I don't own a 12C.

Prices are all over the place at the moment with £70k spread on similar 675LT's. Some people are holding out for silly prices whilst sensible price cars are flying out the door

Prices have come down over the last 12 months presumably Brexit being a big factor.
Can't see them going much lower than winter 2018 TBH. If you want to get some use over this summer its not a bad time to make a dealer an offer as enquiries have dropped off and they will take a small profit rather than hold the car for another 6 months over winter. Either way prices are fairly stable and you are not going to see any further £10k drops

I had abit of an argument other day with a supercar dealer he was trying to sell me a 360 with F1 gearbox for 120k with only 2,5k miles and I said to him why would I do that no ones buying super cars and imo it’s overpriced I’d rather have a 12c at 85-90k and get a decent warranty on it can’t see them dropping any more whereas I think gallardos and 360s will drop soon

NOTHING is selling at the moment. Ferrari benefits from a delayed effect as the brand is very strong and their are simply more people vested in keeping prices high. They will creep down too as people hold off on buying. I have Ferrari and McLaren. I'm holding on to both as there's no point trying to sell anything now unless you need the cash. I may however buy something :-) I think 12c prices are at their lowest now. Warranty prices are an issue for some but an Indy network will start to mature and that will give comfort to used buyers. Then 12c prices will be going up while over priced ferraris will adjust downwards

It’s Groundhog Day. I just read this thread from the beginning thinking it was very recent but it’s a year old now and look how all that talk of 720 prices supporting the 12c and the 650s etc etc has ended up. There’s a 12c in the classifieds now for less than £80k albeit with 29k miles but still....

Why would the prices stabilise when McLaren is pumping out ever increasing volumes of cars that are better / faster and that are also dropping like stones value wise. Buy any 12c today and you immediately lose £10k in my view. They are still good cars if you don’t care about this, obviously......

I am genuinely surprised that you can get a 12c now for mid £70's after a bit of negotiation. Surely these can't go much lower? Looking at the other used supercars in this price bracket you are looking at Gallardo's, Ferrari 360/F430 etc and I am sure many would argue the Mclaren is a big step up from these models.

MASSIVE step up. More than next generation IMHO as 12c was ahead of its time at launch.
Sub £100k it's a crazy bargain even factoring in a warranty.
People will wake up to it soon but internet scaremongering does not help the brand and McLaren need to support the used car and aftersales market themselves as well.
Nought wrong with the product just the brand and network strength.
Demand continues to grow strongly for new product.
Can't believe how many 570S you see on the roads these days

totally agree, I think McLaren have to rethink their support for the used car market as clearly there is a stigma attached to the brand which has no doubt contributed to the significant price depreciation.

To sum up, yes the car is easily a generation ahead but ownership is a generation behind....
