It comes with 12 month warranty so what's the cost of warranty ongoing?
3.8k or just over 7k for 2 years...
Mind you, I'm not sure if this car comes with a McLaren warranty or a 3rd party one...
I think all AB’s cars come with McLaren warranty but not 100% sure, when I went there a while back he said the car included full Mclaren service and warranty!

Agreed, great deal...

This LHD 458 is a similar price! I know which one I'd buy!

AB has his own warranty which is very good, however do you really think that someone who has invested £0 in the official McLaren retail network is going to be allowed to sell the official McLaren dealer warranty with his second hand cars get real.

I get that but many of his cars are SOR & so the McL warranty is transferable.

Also, any car can have a McL warranty, it would need to be inspected (at a cost) & the service schedule must have been adhered to.

Yes because he does lots of SOR cars and sells vehicles on behalf of owners that have just had them serviced and warrantied or are transferable !

As per the car he offered me just serviced with full official Mclarenn warranty, that’s why I said not 100% because it would depend on the individual car! which I guess makes it real !

Not if Mclaren find out it was sold through a dealer.

In car manufacturers eyes, SOR is still not a private to private sale so they would void.

How would they find out or even be bothered to find out?

Not true in my case...

My car was delivered & picked up by the SOR firm to McLaren, they inspected & serviced it then transferred the warranty to me.

Yes I understand that SOR transfers the existing vehicles warranty to the new owner, however as stated AB does not sell the Official McLaren Dealer used car warranty with his cars.

I have nothing against AB I think he does a great job for existing McLaren owners and his own used car McLaren warranty is an excellent contract for peace of mind if purchasing a used McLaren from him.

I was trying to clear up misinformation that his used car warranty was the same as from the official dealer network which it is not smile

That’s why I said I think all AB’s cars come with McLaren warranty because he pretty much only sells cars that have FMDSH and are under current warranty with McLaren, the reason I said not 100% sure is that the odd car might not be in the McLaren system but I think he try’s to avoid those. I wasn’t saying he was selling McLaren warranties I was referring to the fact that he was supplying cars with McLaren warranty !

They won't unless someone says something stupid like one of my customers did a few years ago.

He rang them up to check some things and said it was for sale at XXX which in turn they voided the current warranty if it was to be transferred.

This is exactly where the trade bids are coming in on my car (today) ......so slightly older, higher mile car next year will be close to £140k
Yeah but trade bids are at least £20k behind going into winter and in spring there is a rebound. You wont actually buy a car retail at £140k next year unless its low spec and high miles. 12C prices which are strong will prop up 650S.
The depreciation curve has flattened now so it depends on the whole market place

I guess this makes me some kind of used super car crystal ball genius biggrin

AB’s 3rd party warranty is from the same provider as McLarens - so very similar (can even be bought in 6 month chunks)

650s are now circa £50k cheaper than 458s - amazing really.

Just started to look at the spider, are these selling well at present or have the current available cars been on the market for some time.

Talk to Alistair Bols, he's sold a few recently. I reckon a nice one can be had for 135/140k.

Like anything else the best cars correctly priced will always sell. Judging by the adverts the 650S has fallen into a price range where they are generally moving more quickly than your average supercar IMHO.
Know of several cars that have recently sold and know of a great one coming to the market for the first time shortly if you are after the very best at a realistic price.
