Driving along minding my own business and a X5 came up behind me, I had a gut feeling it was an unmarked car, 1 mile down the road, sure enough!!!!
The reason he stopped me is apparently a burnt orange one has been recently stolen and has links to Plymouth. The officer was incredibly nice and good to know they're being proactive with these things.
Anyway, if anyone is offered any cheaper than cheap parts, beware!!!!!

Mine came with a Cobra fitted, but you have to be careful to make sure you get the annual renewal, because in the sale to vodafone, alot of details seemed to get lost and I would think a lot didn't get renewed.

interesting. vodafone mistakenly attempted to renew my three-year subscription a year early - i wonder how many people got ripped off ???

If they'd found it yesterday, why the hell did they stop me otodsy ther than just to check the car out??? Seems strange. Didn't ask for ID or drivers license, weird. They checked the VIN in the window but one of the lads wanted to check the VIN within the menu that I stumbled across when fiddling with the settings. Apparently that is much harder to tamper with??

Just got my insurance details that just came through (NFU @ £555 with European home assist) and where it says tracker, they've got none, other than what was fitted as factory standard. Mines got a tracker but deactivated and I beleve this was an optional extra, but could be wrong. Would you say this needs reacivating or not? Seem to recall Vodaphone charging almost £300 for the yearly subscription??

My experience with insurance companies is that over a certain value (say £70k) they demand a tracker be fitted (and working!) and it had to be a certain type of tracker (one with the fobs you put in your pocket). I'd check with them to be sure.

Admiral does not require a tracker on my 570GT. I triple checked.

NFU didn't require one for my GT either. However, I do have a CAT 5 one with Vodafone, which reduced my premium nearly £100.
