Got a 540c on order and as I've been informed, production of the 540c is paused and will resume in Jan 2018. Anyone out there with any info regarding the spec for the 2018MY? Will there be any changes to either the base spec or options available when compared to 2017MY?

I live in Sweden so it's a euro spec LHD, haven't got freeze date yet so still undecided on full spec but probably;
Storm grey
Security pack
Natural tan
No carbon fibre
Standard rims X 8 (4 extra for winter tyres) love driving in the snow

Dark grey and tan will look fabulous, good call. I've no external carbon on mine but do have the internal carbon pack. It was the one thing I had as a 'must have' just for the longer gear paddles... Just a thought.

Nice idea on the extra wheels too thumbup

I think the only options you 'really' need are front lift and longer paddles. The rest is down to personal taste.

Front lift comes with the security pack so that's sorted but I must confess, it's not something I ever use on mine.

I use it every time I use the car, my village has speed bumps which are a bit close, so does the next village. I don't even live in a city!

Btw, I found somewhere I couldn't go even WITH the lift, it still caught the ground underneath the very front after lots of manoeuvring ... luckily not visible.

No chance. Just out of shot was a wall and behind was a steep hill, angles actually worse than they look in the photo. Took a lot of fiddling to get out again without touching down.

I'd say the lift is an absolute must, I've had Lotus Elises & an Evora before the 540 and never had an issue with getting in and out of my drive. The 540 is deceptively low and needs the lift no doubt about it.... I didn't bother activating the lift for the first few months of ownership and I've had to have my door seals replaced, ( they're exposed beneath the doors btw... a little vulnerable ).

The longer carbon paddles are a must imo, very tactile!

I know, but you do get the other internal carbon bits as well wink. The standard paddle is just too small imo.

I think the CF pack actually adds weight, as they simply put the CF part on top of normal part .. at least that is what looks like has happened to the extended CF paddles

Surely no one picks any of the CF packs because they are going to save a few grams in weight?? I didn't smile

yep, it's a gimmick.
I've seen a guy over on fchat literally glue £15k's worth of after market carbon fibre to various parts in his 458.
you might aswell just get carbon effect stickers and pop them on

Yep, mostly aesthetic only as there are no performance gains with the majority of the carbon add-ons, not that there's anything wrong with an owner wanting to make their car look and feel a little more 'special'. The exception is the extended paddles though, having that extra long blade does genuinely help when driving.
