Hi all
Does anyone have any feedback on servicing and repairs at the above? I only ask as they are a multi franchise set up (ie Lamborghini, Rolls, Bentley etc) so i'm coming from the angle that is there a specific team dedicated to Mclaren or do the techs work on all the brands? If it's the latter then i'm not convinced they'd have as much experience in sorting niggles as a dedicated outlet like Ascot but i'd welcome experiences of the masses.

They are part of Rybrook who run McBirmingham which I think usually gets relatively the best reviews out of the main Mclaren dealers (who are all multi franchise anyway) and was told at the time Bristol were setup they had a pretty good guy running service. Would have no issues at all going to them if they were nearer.

They have dedicated McLaren trained technicians and have serviced 2 of my cars.
All 3 times they have treated me very well, and done exactly what I asked and I'm am a very fussy customer who knows exactly what is expected.
Happily recommend them to anyone

I would have to say that I have experienced similar issues with other McLaren dealers where they are too busy to help - I have always found the technicians at Bristol very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I am sure they do have dedicated factory trained technicians - great set up to do business with ..... would recommend to anybody!

I had a warranty problem on my 675LT and Ascot was to busy to fix it. I raised it with McLaren and they chose Bristol for the work. It was then done quickly and well. My understanding is that they are known within the network as being good on technical issues.

Don't be fooled by Ascot being 'McLaren Only', they have a truly shocking reputation on the McLaren Owners group.

Yes some owners have had a good experience with them but many refuse to use them, me included.

Never had any issue swith them, always good to deal with, the work's fine and they've always got the car back when it's promised. I've seen the reports though, they do have their detractors. Be good to see McLaren expand the service centres a little more, one dealership for the whole of the south east is always going to be stretched, especially as London's sale only.

I'm seriously considering buying a 650s Spider and my nearest dealer is Ascot.

There seem to be a lot of negative comments on here about them as dealership - is that borne out by experience?

I must say that I went to look at their second hand stock, and despite being told twice that someone would attend to me, after 25 minutes I left without being seen or spoken to.

Not a great start.

Just had my 650 serviced at Ascot. Terrible communication, no return calls & very slow.

I personally believe that the service will get better as more service centres open & they have some competition!
Looking forward to Grange Hatfield opening!!

Oh yes, the FB Owners group is full of unhappy owners dissatisfied with 'a certain dealership' through bitter experience....

There are also a number who post to say they've never had a problem, some of whom subsequently post to say they've then had terrible service/been treated 'poorly'..... its only a matter of time!

I would NEVER use them personally.

Back on topic and to answer OP, would highly recommend McLaren Bristol.
They have dedicated technicians that work on McLarens and have always been able to sort out my gremlins!
Workshop manager ex McLaren B'ham so long experience with the brand.
Both new car salesman also very good, although can't speak for second hand experience as that dealt with by different department on first floor

Why would you ever want an outfit that has treated you like that to make money out of you......

I wouldn't, but I thought my experience might be a one-off. Clearly it isn't. It's a shame as all the other dealerships are miles away.

Amazing really, I would really like to spend my money with Mclaren but I am now rapidly going off the idea.

I have the same issue with Land Rover, I bought one in spite of their appalling attitude and service, and now deeply regret it. The brand just seems to sell itself despite their dealers doing their best not to sell cars. Seems many Mclaren dealers are similar.

Weird.

One McLaren dealer, not many. The other UK dealers seem to range from fine to awesome judging by multiple reports from owners.
