Went for a quick run over the Tomintoul road yesterday, great road and there were plenty of nice toys out doing the same..

I'll post a few more pictures later but really chuffed with this one, as it gives a better representation of the colour (vermillion red). Most of the photos seem to show it being quite flat red, but its definitely got a tinge of orange through it

These ones, not so happy with them but they at least show how scenic the road is. Lucky to have this just about 30 minutes from my door. It was a beautiful day and properly bright sunshine, I think the drone was really struggling not to overexpose a few of them

Thanks!

The NC500 is great, I've not done the full route but done most of it, over various trips. Glencoe is also worth a visit as it's stunning.

I'm doing it this year with my brother in his yellow Mustang so we should get plenty of good pictures.

I'm using a Mavic Pro just now, purely as it is so portable. I've been using an Inspire 1 before which I think is slightly better, but the sheer size of it means it is a pain to take anywhere to use. Which photo do you mean? smile The mavic shoots in 12mp I think? I'll double check..

Hello!

Very random question and probably not in-line with the general chat, however I know very little about supercars and need some advice!

My boyfriend's birthday is coming up and we will be in Dubai, I plan to take a day trip to Abu Dhabi and book him in for a driving experience at the Yas Marina Circuit to drive a Ferrari 458 GT around the track. It is quite pricey!

In your opinions, would it be something you supercar heads would enjoy and something you consider worth the money?

Or shall I stick to a regular supercar driving experience day for a fraction of the cost? With the latter it would be a Ferrari 430 at a track somewhere in and around London.

Please let me know your thoughts! Any help would be much appreciated as I would like to know what people would think the better experience would be! Please excuse my naivety!

Thanks in advance!

Haha I hope so! Silly question, but were you referring to the Ferrari 458 GT at Yas Marina or the other one? Sorry and thanks for your response!

Would it be something I would enjoy ... absolutely. Would I consider it worth the money ... I'd need quite a lot more information before I could answer that. How long does the experience last? How many laps? Full GP circuit or the North or South circuit (the GP circuit can be split in 2)? Any restrictions on the car? I'd also be checking on the extra insurance small print, if I remember correctly there was a 20k Euro excess last time I spoke to them. (Note that the experience is sub contracted out to Dragon Racing whom, in my experience, are a great bunch of guys and a very professional outfit.)

Note that Dragon Racing also offer similar experiences in Dubai at the Autodrome (where they are based) so that could save you a trip to Abu Dhabi (unless you are also planning Ferrari World, Grand Mosque etc). They also offer a McLaren experience so a very tentative link to this thread!

For comparison purposes, I contacted the Yas race school directly and got 2 hours in one of their Radicals with a dedicated instructor on the North circuit for about the same price as the 458 GT experience. I suspect I learned more from this/enjoyed this far more (but this was a few years ago).

Thank you for much for this Jerry, I have contacted the race school and will get those details. We plan on visiting Abu Dhabi anyway to see the Grand Mosque and Ferrari World so thought the dirving experience at Yas Marina would be a nice touch.

Really appreciate your response. Thanks for your help and will keep you updated if thats ok?

Thanks again!
