Potential 720S Purchase - Some advice please!
Discussion
Congrats CyCy.
Yeah may make it along to BHPat some stage in the afternoon but I've not found it that exciting on the last 2 occasions and I've got a mate down from the big smoke for the weekend who wants to take in some driving and photo action on the local B roads down here. Keep an eye out for a Volcano red McLaren 650S spider and Rosso Mars Lamborghini Huracan Performante in high speed convoy

Err, following along with advice and all that..
Just scraped the bottom of the front bumper on a nasty incline. Standard supercar affair. I can't see the scrape, so not fussed. I can, however feel it if I grope around the bottom of the car enough. I'm sure a bunch of you have scrapped the bottom of your bumpers here. Whaddya reckon? Fix it? How much do you think that's gonna run me, anyway? Or should I not bother until I've to sell the car?

There are after mkt skids plates avaiable, worth fiiting (even some dealerships offer to fit them)

Yeah, I decided not to push with the buyback situation. fk it, it's a car, I'm gonna drive the tits off it and when I'm done and the next one is ready to go, I'll just "part-ex" it. Better that then have to worry every single second about the amount of mileage I'm doing in the thing. Feels a bit weird to talk about "part-ex"ing a quarter of a million pound car but there we are. Happier this way. Doing a 1000 mile roadtrip in it soon, would've probably taken the E63 if I'd have a contractual agreement based on miles. Almost as if I didn't own the car in the first place.
Mac Bristol are some seriously top guys and I have no doubt they'll take care of me.. Now can't wait for the next one!

Still intrigued about this buy back option, I’m on the fence with the 720 while I think they offer everything including looks and performance there is still issues about reliability and dealers ability to deal with these issues.Mac Bristol are some seriously top guys and I have no doubt they'll take care of me.. A guaranteed future value and buyback could have me reaching for the cheque book but I very much doubt it exists.

I spoke to an owner that has one - the reality is the buy back looks cheap now (as the cars have stopped falling in value) so it is an easy way for the dealer to get stock in. Not 100% sure if the obligation was two way - i.e the owner has to offer first refusal to the dealer - he is checking with them - otherwise he can sell it on the used mkt. (Needs to maintain goodwill, as he wants some of the limted special edtions coming up).A guaranteed future value and buyback could have me reaching for the cheque book but I very much doubt it exists.
I cant share the exact maths (I think they may have mandated finance, therefore extra commission for them) but the cost is still circa £4k a month ...assuming some finance costs (and thats after something like a 15% discount off the list).... still big costs to own .
If you are paying cash you can't get a simple underwrite for 6/12/18/24 mths time if the dealer has balls to put his neck on the line.
Its probably a conservative figure but its a safeguard for the retail should the market collapse as the risk is the dealers.
You need to have a good long standing relationship with the dealer usually though.
As the market has cooled and 720 values dropped they may be more reluctant to do it from new now but probably still would on a used car

Good grief 4K a month even with an allowance for finance seems a lot of money. I mean over three years that’s a loss of 144k and while I appreciate you have options to keep the car at the end of term it smacks of little confidence of the dealers forecast future values, that and it will no doubt be linked to a silly limited mileage of under.
Suppose the only option is to buy well and keep your fingers crossed. As I suspected cars at this value don’t lend themselves to such schemes.

Probably not going to happen, I'll be honest. They told me they'd never done such a thing down at Bristol, anyway. That being said, honestly man, I was in the same spot. I bit the bullet and went for it. I couldn't be happier. I'm not as worried anymore. Especially not after living with the car. At this stage, f*** it. I can afford it, and I'm not taking the money to the grave with me. The smile that this 720S puts on my face cannot compare. Brilliant machine. Not without it's flaws, sure. But a very good car no doubt. I will lose £20-30k conservatively. But it's made up for in smiles.A guaranteed future value and buyback could have me reaching for the cheque book but I very much doubt it exists.

what's happened to that 720, paint damage from removing a bad wrap or something?
Is this not the "favoured" marble look some owners seem to like? I saw similar in grey on a Lambo's black rear spoiler last weekend and it looked terrible IMHO.Regardless, that looks like some paintwork in serious need of attention.
