Fell in love with the new Aston Martin DBS.
Speced the Car and it came out st £250k.
Wasn’t thinking of buying another brand , but just happened to drive buy a McLaren garage , popped in and after half an hr talking to salesman will not be going ahead with the DBS but ordered a 600 LT spider .

They let you order a car that has not yet been announced ?

What sort of delivery were you quoted - two years perhaps

Like to know which dealer has taken your deposit for a spider.
I puts letter of intent on for both coupe and spider 18 months ago and was first on list and I haven't handed any money over yet.
Last time I looked about 4 months ago there were at least another 25 people on the list.
I was also told they were only taking orders from other sport series or McLaren owners first
Until you have a specced car I wouldn't get too excited

Oh
That’s not what I was told
I will check first thing Monday
Might be a DBS after all if they won’t honour the deposit .

I put letters of intent in and tried to give deposits for both coupe and spider 18 months ago when i purchased a 570S.
Only really purchased 570S just to get first on list for LT and I haven't handed any money over yet.

I was also told more recently they were only taking orders from other sport series or at least McLaren owners first

It's easy for them to take your money but it doesn't guarantee their allocation despite what they might promise you. I would be surprised if you saw one before summer 2020 TBH

Some dealers have a smaller customer base for track specials so if they have taken a deposit odds are you will get one. If I go ahead with my 600LT Spider allocation then it is predicted as a Q2 2019 delivery. Even the coupe isnt delivering until oct/Nov so expect even the first spider not to appear until Feb 2019.

In my experience........if McLaren say Q2................expect Q3........if you are lucky......

As far as I know the spider won't be available straight after the coupe so I think people are getting confused with spider availability being in Q2 2020 not 2019.
McLaren want to sell some coupes for a year rather than the majority of people opting straight for the spider.
I've also been told that whilst the coupe will be limited in number the spider might not be.

Some clarity would be good but as McLaren have not even announced a spider a lot of people are jumping to conclusions.
Of course one will follow but not within a couple of months.
720S spider could even be before

Well the 720s is already in existence, at least in prototype form as it was in Portugal last week at the senna launch and dealer conference.
My dealer has suggested Q2 2019 but is not yet taking deposits. If it is going to be 2020 then thats better for me as i should be able to afford a better spec by then. For me Clubsport pro pack, security pack and all 3 carbon packs are essential options.
I guess we will all find out when they actually launch the car rather than us all throwing rumours around here.

Oh and expect the 600LT Spider to be £250k OTR with decent spec so if that pricepoint put the OP off then it might be worth rethinking the LT. ( i know that sounds like im being a tophat. Thats not intended, it is just the way its written)

So I specced up an LT today and it came to just under £260k +OTR. Add at least £15k premium for a spider and that £275k plus any cool things MSO come up with. I love the look of this thing but at that price ill admit im a bit on the fence now.

That's SUPERseries 675LT prices. How did you get £75k of options.
I don't think I will go that heavy on price .
On holiday whilst all this action is going on so will sort it all out next week now

seeing as though it starts at just under £190k, how have you managed to spec it up to that?! doesn't seem right to me, seeing as though my local dealer hasn't even had the prices for the options yet...…………..

Consider for a moment that there hasn't even been a single sighting of a 720S Spider mule yet and they're going to get that out and launched way before the 600LT Spider. As RamboLambo says, it's unlikely it'll be delivered before 2020.

Get the DBS and keep a LOI in for the Spider. You'll have a good year plus in the Aston before the LTS arrives. thumbup

The club sport pro pack alone is 29k then the 3 carbon packs is 20k, security pack another 4k, napier green paint 6k couple of other bits and boom £250-260k without even trying. Mso are also working on roof scoop etc for the coupe and I would imagine that is another 10k. Dealer also asked for deposit for the spider today. Got some thinking to do tonight to see if I really want it that much.

Would the roof scoop have any functional benefits? If not, what would be the point? If the car needed one for performance reasons then I imagine it would have one as standard.

I've seen a mule with a roof scoop so I'm pretty sure it will be an expensive MSO option.
£30k on 675LT

For those asking how it got so high, i have listed the spec below.
600LT 185500*
Napier green paint 6120
Clubsport pro pack 28480*
By mc interior 2990
Carbon pack 1 3240*
Carbon pack 2 5700*
Carbon pack 3 9950*
Security pack 3860*
Track telemetry 3470
Active Aero 5500
Black wheels 1140*
Black exhaust 460*
Coloured caliper 910*
Coloured seatbelts 300*
Total 257620 +OTR
and thats before MSO announce the roof scoop (looks cool and adds sound but no real benefit). and a whole host of other carbon tat to add on for no actual benefit other than it looks amazingly cool. I think a fully specced (excluding MSO) coupe can add up to about £275k +OTR

items marked * are what i consider essential for me if I go ahead.
