So lately the 458 does not fire up at times and the windows have dropped...it's been living on a trickle charger when not in use but now even after a full weekend of driving she wont fire up. Just plugged her in to the charger again and will try in a couple of hours....Is this calling for a new battery or could this be something else?

If it is a battery is this a dealer jobby that requires ECU programming or can any battery place competent with sports cars fit one?

Sounds like a Mini, where you avoid any problems by just attaching the battery terminals to a portable starter pack whilst you change the battery. Even I can do it!

Sounds like a battery issue. Does seem to be the 458/488 achilles heel. I've read that you don't need to keep another battery in parallel when doing the swap, however I think I will just in case. I'm not convinced the ferrari battery conditioner is really up to the job - recently after 3 weeks away my car was reluctant to start and the first push of the button resulted in an assortment of error messages about random things. Turn off, wait a second, try again and started fine all errors gone, and fine ever since with semi-regular use (once a week). I may try wiring in my accumate conditioner and see if the situation is better after the next longish time in between uses.
