720s Below 200K Already
Discussion
You'd be amazed at the different grip levels on tyres for the 720, mine came on P Zero's which I swapped for P Zero corsa, made a huge difference, not only to cornering but straight line grip, on standard P Zero, when hot, the car can feel a bit flat due to the electronics trying to pull everything back.
No pics, may have just been listed but another even cheaper.

I don't really understand why they're in a free fall?
They're the best McLaren available for a normal supercar and yet they're touching baby McLaren prices??
I’ve been following these closely. I was near to chopping in two cars 12 months ago and replacing with a 720. As it happened I was in no rush and things kept softening so not easy for me to sell and 720s went into semi-free fall at the same time for connected reasons. They're the best McLaren available for a normal supercar and yet they're touching baby McLaren prices??
All prices are coming down as sales volumes plummet. Some dealers aren’t moving prices yet, but if you speak to them and/or try to get a price on something you own you hear that message. For the 720 in particular, beyond the general market woes of economic slowdown and Brexit, my view is that it’s a function of supply vs demand (they produced too many too soon for what is a limited market), the running costs of all Mclarens (where the 5k warranty is seen as absolute “must have”) and the ownership niggles (perennial stories of various minor issues, returns to dealer, out of stock parts, delays etc). Those points are a real cost in cash and time which impact the value to a buyer; Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche don’t have those issues to anything like the same degree, plus have the added brand longevity and associated feel good factor.
I’d still like a 720 but I’m going to wait it out and see what happens. I’d like some semblance of price stability or at least a known depreciation curve or an obvious bottom of the market. Looking at prices of the 12c or the 650 suggest a price for the 720 close to 100k in a few years so it’s not at all hard to see 150k later this year if things keep looking bleak in the economic front and even then be prepared to lose 50k over the ensuing 3 years.
And the interesting thing imo is the knock on effect on say 570 prices. Been offered a top spec low miles private 2 yr old 570 Ss available in March haven't agreed a price but this will need to be sub £100k to make sense as a purchase imo.
Reckon to run it until August and come out relatively lightly depreciation wise.

Agreed, there is a McLaren specific knock-off effect. It gives you a great car for the money, a real £/performance bargain, but the McLaren market just hasn’t settled yet. It was a 570 I was testing in Bristol early last year, but then I saw a 720 whilst I was there and was smitten. Reckon to run it until August and come out relatively lightly depreciation wise.
There are some interesting choices right now as a number of comparable cars congregate around lower price points. I was on the JZM site looking at that 488 that was mentioamed earlier and a 997.2RS, a 991.2GT3 and a 991.1GT3RS were all next to each other on their listings page at more or less the same price around the 150-160k mark. Given you can get a 650 for 40k less it is interesting.
