Hi all,

I think this car looks awesome in the MSO Paris Blue. Anyone know anything about it? Car for my brother, not me but he is impulsive and tends to avoid research.

https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

Seems to be good value compared to other dealer cars and also has a warranty till 2020 so can anyone see any reason not to buy it?

Thanks in advance.

Really? 5900 miles in almost two years is considered heavy for a Mac? Heartbreaking really. There is another at Mac Ascot which seems less well optioned and 3,000 miles but is £20k more expensive. Seems a heavy premium.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback av185 smile

Thanks. He has a couple of Porkers for track use so it'll be for road trips and cruising about mainly.

Incidentally, there was a 720 at Snetterton a few weeks back and the speed differential to everything else was astonishing.

Yes it's a shame these cars are so mileage sensitive but can't change that.

Great colour though. Incidentally I will be getting this 570 in the same colour next year

It wouldn't be a 2 year old car. maybe a bit over one year? High mileage on an early 720 would imo be a good thing as that would have meant any problems would be ironed out by now. That car has bucket seats (a must have imo) so would have been after the initial bunch of 'launch edition' jobs but probably still early enough I'd run a careful eye over the car for panel gaps as the earlier cars were a bit iffy (much improved later).

The official dealers I think have a tendency to leave prices high but ime are always open 'to a deal' if you are prepared to fork out the deposit when there. I'd say you could probably try to get further off this car as well given the mileage is high relative to others and some cars have already went below £200k. Good luck.

fair point, I keep looking at these as track cars due to relatively light weight and the fact that I can otherwise only really use the performance on the Autobahn (really want one, but can't afford atm)

am sure he will be happy with one - they look really good value compared to the Porsche offerings imo

As far as I am aware all flavours of 720 namely Coupe, Luxury and Performance are basically the same car but each with a different combination of baubles. Thus a fully specified car may not go any faster but depending on taste may look better. Whether or not this matters is down to each individual. For example, this Performance car will have Primary internal carbon as standard. As an option it appears to have visible carbon monocage. But if it doesn’t have Secondary interior carbon then the interior appearance might be viewed as less cohesive. Check if the buckets are normal or touring, the former can be a tight fit for some. Lack of Sports exhaust, gorilla glass and B&W might be considered negatives.

Bearing in mind we are now into November, 2017 cars will soon “appear” to be 2 years old, hence prices below £200k already. The counterpart to the impulse buy is to speak to McL dealers and find a new car which is already specified and in the pipeline on which a deal might be done including a 19 plate.

Romans have an 800 mile fully optioned £280k list car for the same money and they have had it on sale for months.

The cars mentioned at McLaren Ascot ain't selling either and have also been on the market for months.

This is a £180k car to sell IMO as it's far from a bargain at its current price.

Always lots of people saying what the price should be but try finding one at their theoretical price..........I know from experience it's not possible

I agree, not wanting to offend any 720 owners though.

Thing with 720s is there are no identical cars so if your bro particularly likes this car, and I have to say I do love the blue and I like the lightweight spec, then he should make them an offer in the knowledge that there could be a 20% pa depreciation pill, if he can live with that then bid away and close the deal.

If he just wants to own a 720S and is not fussy about colour and spec but just cost of ownership then he needs to get on the phone and start bidding and see if he can find his £180K car.

I would offer £190k. It’s winter now and it will be sitting there until Spring.

just realised it has an AF Corse plate - kinda funny, given that AF C is a Ferrari race team (aware it is not the same as the dealer)
