To all the people here obsessed with mileage and depreciation and how these cars are “overpriced” - I have only one way thing to say:

GO JUMP OFF A fkING CLIFF AND LEAVE THE REST OF US TO ENJOY OUR CARS.

Some of us, shock horror, actually buy our supercars to drive and enjoy. The people who whine the most on PH are the idiots who either can’t afford them or should never be allowed to buy them as they’ll constantly be complaining about depreciation.

Mine’s not being replaced until the spider comes out as no other car comes close and I’m enjoying every minute.

To the OP: buy the colour and spec you want and enjoy. Ignore all the morons who predict doom and gloom. wink

P.S. My colour is called Mauvine Blue and and it’s epic. biggrin
Beautiful car - drive the wheels off it at every opportunity - we’re a long time dead.

The perfect attitude NM.
I know everyone has their own opinion but when I hear a car with 5000 miles being described as 'leggy' I just despair.

If you're worth billions then maybe but if like most of us here you've worked your bks off for thirty years to be able to afford these cars then mileage isn't something to worry about. Just drive them at every opportunity and enjoy yourself.

I can't imagine anything more tragic than finally buying the car of your dreams only to be st scared to drive it.

Well said . I can’t stand folk who complain about depreciation.
Price is only important if you want to sell , and I don’t so it’s irrelevant.
McLarens are more capable than most drivers , so just drive and enjoy 😉

Yep just about to put another 800 miles on mine driving from Bournemouth to North Wales for a weekend hoon with some great mates.

Neither of which money or depreciation could not buy.

My overriding impression of 99% of the Mclaren owners I have had the pleasure of meeting in the last two years are True Petrol Heads and jet get on and drive the wheels off the things.

Long may that continue smile

Congratulations McLaren owners for turning a thread asking about whether a specific car was good value into a "I'm considerably richer than you thread".

Once you've finished high-fiving yourselves, you might want to take a step back and think about those who are are aspiring to McLaren ownership but maybe who don't want to have to write off considerable amounts of money day 1 (otherwise known as the serving staff) wink

That has to be the nicest 720s I have personally seen. Super colour!

Although if you cannot drive backwards or forwards at 1 mph without crashing what chance have you at higher speeds.

Not sure if serious?
You must know the rules - if you’re not sure you can afford to buy and run a supercar then you probably can’t.
No point whinging about it.
Just wait a bit longer until you can.
Certainly don’t begrudge those that can afford it having some fun.

Agreed about parking skill....although you really didnt have to go there...anways spec is very important in this bracket of car, selling most cars without rear view camera or the very least parking sensors is the equivalent now days of selling a premium brand car without satnav .. imho of course

if you drive and park your car regularly, I'd say especially on mid-engined cars parking sensors are quite helpful. I certainly find parking the Scuderia challenging sometimes due to lack of visibility - this is not to say it is impossible, but sensors would make life a little easier sometimes

I think they are a little too sensitive on the 720 and 570. They will happily beep away in normal traffic or when people walk past.
I was looking for a menu setting that would let you adjust them down a bit but couldn't find one.
They may be set by some regulation or other I suppose.

Exactly.

This is the problem.

You can rely on them too much.

Rather like using your calculator to work out 2+2.

Though it has to be said, some like being brain dead. rolleyes

it's not always like that though is it?
people generally move up from something like an rs3 to a porsche then on to something special which is a huge purchase and represents years of hard work. depreciation is a huge factor for someone making their first supercar purchase.

the ones on the FF are a bit sensitive, but still help a little/better than having none, even if I can park without them.

I like having them - then again I do more than 15k km in the FF and more than 15k km in the Scuderia per year, so I probably have to park those cars a little more often in tight spaces/navigate tight parking garages than other people ....

Everything about your post is epic, NM. Your 720 is exactly the spec my aspirational dream car would be, and I'm so glad to read about someone who, shock horror, actually drives and ENJOYS their car! (I know McLaren call that shade 'mauvine blue' but to me it's a better shade of purple than any of their actual purple options.)
