Mmmm, biggest jump was in China. I wonder if that explains the apparent issues in the UK with support/parts?

I ordered an Audi A3 back in 2010/11 and it was delayed by 6 months due to Audi stock being prioritised for the middle east.

None of the press releases, I read gave the number for the USA, other than to say;

Mclaren News said:
In total 4,806 McLarens were sold in 2018........and North America - where more than a third of McLarens are sold - "achieved another year of record growth".
Taking these two statements together suggests a sale number (for the USA) of around 1,600 perhaps a bit more.

and in 2017
2017 sales said:
with the United States accounting for 1,234 according to McLaren.
So a USA increase between 2017 and 2018 of around 35%

Being of cross-Atlantic persuasion I can tell you, though, that (unlike, say Aston Martin), Mclarens win drag races. That’s lot of why there’s the growth in the US. Many Youtube videos about that as well.

Yes, I've noticed the Americans love straight line acceleration.

Lots of US drag racing videos on YT, with 720S utterly dominating everything else.

What a shame given their cornering prowess too. Absolutely superb cars to drive.

Yes indeed, and the most amusing thing is some (competing car fanboy) American usually comments that "car x" would however destroy the 720S on track... Just shows their level of ignorance.

To be fair to my US brethren there are just as many that spend more time on the track and appreciate things like manual shifters than most in the UK can. It’s just that for a car or brand to be successful there, they need to drag as well. So not many Lotus or AM sales there.

Well most of that increase was for the SUV. Hurcan and Aentador increased only 3-5%. Just like with Porsche, “I’ll take the Lambo” could now mean you’re doing a school and grocery run.
