The £90k 570S has arrived - bargain of the year?
Discussion
So, I picked my car up at the weekend and I have to say it's just bloody fantastic. Coming from a 4C the steering's on another level, it's refined for cruising if you want but it sounds and goes ballistic when you want to play.
I have had a major issue with it on my journey home but until that's resolved I'll not say anymore, this has marred the experience somewhat but hopefully it will get fixed and I'll move on.
I just used the Alfa this afternoon and it's still a great event, really basic driving without the baggage of some so called sports cars but the Mac is worth 3 x the price for sure.
I've tried so many times to turn this upside down but failed miserably, maybe someone could oblige.

Ha! It’s not just me then! Except I’ll be buried in the 4C, that is never being sold - it’s the ultimate Lancia
I realised though, no doubt like you, that basically the only way up from a 4C was a Mac. Once you go exposed carbon tub you can’t go back!
But you can’t take the wife away for the weekend in the 4C, nor talk to anybody in the car or do too much practical. In my case I always wanted to lose the roof, so am looking at Spiders. The Macs currently from the 570s to the 650 Spiders at £110k are just blinding value for me, I can’t see past them!
Glad I’m not the only 4C man who is on this logic train ??

Great to see you agree with my logic if not my man maths but this new arrival is so much more usable for long distance trips that I'm going to be doing more of so I'm very glad to make the upgrade. The Alfa really is a noisy little buzzbox but still hugely enjoyable (steering aside)
It was fantastic....for a week.... then I had a problem so it's been back in Glasgow for the last week or so, due back sometime soon hopefully but I don't actually know as a new windscreen is not available.
So, I have this lovely (not) S Class Diesel to use in the meantime, not great considering the car broke 30 mins after I collected it. I asked for something sporty but it fell on deaf ears and I gave up trying to push for one. Sales manager's really are only interested in one way traffic...i.e sales and everything else that doesn't lead to a sale is irritating for them.

McLaren have a couple of 570 spiders that I keep looking at on the web..... just not sure if I am ready to dive in now or wait a few months.
Let us know when you get it back and how you are enjoying it, be good to get a report on the 570 experience.

Fantastic cars and I'm not put off by this experience. A friend was also looking at one and he had a drive at the weekend at ascot in a used coupe and bought it on the spot, big grin on his face after coming back from the test drive.McLaren have a couple of 570 spiders that I keep looking at on the web..... just not sure if I am ready to dive in now or wait a few months.

Get behind the wheel of one, that's what does the talking.
I too spotted that 90K 570s. Saw one at my local dealers a little more expensive and went to look. As it turned out they had a few pre-registered cars with delivery miles on for just over £130K. A bit of negotiation after a test drive and I picked up my 19 plate 4 days later!!! Man maths came in to play that day. Love the car to bits, I know the depreciation is a bit crappy but I am happy to think I got a fairly good deal on a nice specced car with a good saving on the real RRP price. The issue is that with MCL selling new cars with a fair chunk off it isn't going to help the residuals going forwards, BUT it got me into my dream car which wouldn't have been possible any other way.

Wow so you got into a brand new ( pretty much ) 570S for sub 130k ? I’m guessing list on that was 155-160k? If you don’t mind me asking did you have to take the finance to secure that deal or you were able to just buy outright without?RSbandit said:

Was a tad over 130k. Took finance to get the price down too. Dealer reckoned it was more like 170's with the spec but I can't find a price list anywhere.LotusAde said:

Also it’s hard to imagine Audi or Porsche knocking 20% off a stock R8 or Turbo S
I was told when looking at R8's Audi offered a £35k contribution to the prefacelifted v10, although they were all sold by then.Enjoy and let us know how you get on.
