I keep trying not to look at these things but hard not to at this price.
Im not familiar with McLarens warranty regime would it need inspecting like an OPC would a Porsche?

It's an absolute bargain of a car for that price. The mileage may seem a tad high but I wouldn't be put off. In fact I think I'd welcome a car knowing it had done a few more miles and actually been used. It's more likely to have had any niggles ironed out.
I would definitely get it inspected by McLaren / Thorney and get a warranty on it though, just for peace of mind

Mclaren charge around £400 for an inspection on a car you may be about to purchase, and if its all clear you can then purchase the McLaren warranty which is in my opinion a must...not sure of price for sports series however but a quick call to any McLaren after sales manager shall give you all the real costs and not forum inflated guesses from others!I keep trying not to look at these things but hard not to at this price.

Cheers for the replies. Ive made the potentially expensive error of going to look at deals on a Couple of nearly new ones today. The finance offerings are so tempting I was a whisker away from coming away with a 570 today. They seem to have made some improvements to the materials on the interiors from the early cars? The one from today felt really good.
One reservation I have is if they are maybe a bit as ostentatious for where we are (west yorkshire) I've had the odd bit of hate for driving an Evora I must admit. Do you get the haters out with these cars? I guess to joe public an Evora and a 570 are the same sort of thing.
Going to have a drive in one first anyway as the Evora is a big old pair of boots to fill in terms of driver engagement.

Never had one negative comment or action, everyone loves McLarens!

Really only had very positive feedback ( although in true Yorkshire style they usually comment ‘bet it doesn’t do many miles to the gallon’)

I'm an ex-Evora owner and now in an 540C. Actually, pretty we knew each other from my VX220 days.
I absolutely loved the Evora. The McLaren really is like a bigger faster version. It feels much more supercar though. It's actually similar to the Exige IMO. I'd say the Evora steering feel is slightly better, but it's marginal. The 570 won't disappoint coming from an Evora, in fact I'd imagine it's exactly what you are looking for.
Never experienced any hate at all, in fact quite the opposite. Filling the car up with petrol takes twice as long as people are always wanting to talk and take pictures

There are a fair number of owners in the club from that part of the world. Our recent club drive around the Lake District and Yorkshire only garnered positive approval - we found it hard to get away from some places, can't remember one hater. Of course, Orange is always the more accepted colour fridaypassion said:

What sort of deals will Mclaren do? The 570 seems to lose a lot in depreciation so if they do a decent deal it wouldn’t hurt as muchOne reservation I have is if they are maybe a bit as ostentatious for where we are (west yorkshire) I've had the odd bit of hate for driving an Evora I must admit. Hi Justin yeah we go back to the Cliosport days! I think you went clio 172 to Lambo If I recall! Actually, pretty we knew each other from my VX220 days.

There's a sorely tempting offer on the table but it would still involve 30k of depreciation. I'm just mulling over the pros and cons really. I suspect I might be able to make a used car work better for me as it wouldn't be much of a jump from the Evora.

I guess it depends on how long you're planning on keeping it. I'd be interested to hear what you think of it against the Evora. Is this the Scott Hall Road dealership (was BMW and Mini, but they moved to South Leeds, Jaguar used to be located on a Barrack Road - much smaller premises)?
There's only one orange McLaren on display, been there a couple months or so.
No I don't know that. Leeds is located on the east side of town right on the outskirts. There's only one orange McLaren on display, been there a couple months or so.
What are thoughts on 2 year residuals for a decent 570? I know it's a bit of a guess but dealers are saying 120 I think it would be nearer 100?

So I had a good run in one courtesy of MacLeeds. The performance is truly staggering very impressive. I was surprised how much turbo lag there was I guess you would kind of drive around that. Its just the initial spool up the actual boost is very well managed. I loved everything about the car (570s spider) it's just the steering for me that isn't quite there. I am spoilt with the Lotus the steering is something they should really be selling to McLaren!
I'm in perculation mode at the moment. I'm not a straightliner type really so the tactility is more important for me and the chassis and ride of the 570 are very very good. Steering is a touch too light and im not sure there's that much detail there.
I am fussy I know. I drove a GT4 and was a bit neutral on that as well. Lotus make a truly underrated and unappreciated product in the 4XX series of Evoras and all for the price of furst year depreciation on some of the Maccas.
Might do another year in the 410. Might sell it and look to get a good circa 100k 570 Ideally from the Leeds dealership. Those are the two options at the moment. I think 2 years in a 570 might see me to the next gen Lotus cars. That will be an interesting fight if they ever get their plans into action.
Too much choice these days! I do like stuff that's bang for buck though and the 570 at the real used and pre reg new prices are unbeatable for the performance you get. Anyone selling A ventura orange one call me!

I often drive my Exige Cup 430 which admittedly is a bit more hardcore than the Evora back to back and even on track. The McLaren is very grown up and just less frantic and faster although it hasn’t got the pure ness of the Lotus.
What I think is the Evora is closer to a McLaren than many people realise in handling terms although it lacks the extra grunt and on a track like Silverstone is 20 mph slower on the straights.
Yeah the pace is just on another level in the 570 I'd be surprised if 20mph was all the difference maybe plus VAT!
Yes it's a tempting proposition the 570 I see a lot of parallels with McLaren and Lotus. Punchy pricing. Not the obvious choice in their given markets etc. I have a feeling that McLarens will bed in over the coming years they certainly have a good product in the 570. Confidence will grow if they look after people on warranty issues. Kind of the opposite to what Porsche are doing right now.
I have to say for all the reading up and YouTube videos my hesitation is no reflection on any doubts over McLaren and how they are making things and treating customers. I suspect I'll end up in one I don't think I'll be able to resist it but it will be when the right car turns up.
Plan C is getting the 460 and final drive mods done on the Evora. 100bhp less but no lag.... could be interesting.
