Dropped off my AV S for an oil change at a well known Lamborghini dealer and I was speaking with my sales guy and he said there's a strong possibility of a very limited production STS Evo which will be the successor to the Performante. It's peaked my interest, just wonder if anyone else has heard the same rumours?

From what I have heard I think you are right and makes sense there will be a final hurrah for the Huracan. Making it very track focussed also makes sense as there it little else they can do now with the Huracan to differentiate it from the Evo and Performante.

As for it being limited rofl It will be limited by how many Lambo think it can reasonably flog to punters.

A lot more expensive than a HP. Prob 2WD with around 670hp..full GT3 body and wing

All presumptions at this stage

Nothing new though, there are probably more Gallardo/LP560/570 versions than McLaren has had Models in total

This might be true. But as nobody with the ability to make social chit-chat actually understands the McLaren nomenclature system, we’ll never know.......

Never you mind

Lotus are the worst for it though. How many Elise/Exige variants are there.,

Looks like it, I’ve got a deposit down for one of these, so intrigued to know whether it’ll be a significant step forward over the Performante on the road...

The STO is supposed to be a more track-focused, hardcore variant so it'll presumably be optimised for track rather than road use.

Exactly, I suspect you’re right, but need to see what the finished product is like, and whether there’s a usability/practicality/value equation that makes sense going forward. Tbh, if it’s totally track focussed then it’s probably not for me.

Having driven the standard Huracan back to back with the Performante when I was deciding what to buy, the only doubt for me was whether the Perf might be a bit too hardcore for the road. I ended up buying a Perf and haven't regretted it. If however the STO is more hardcore than the Perf (which I assume it will be) then the same question will apply.

I'm excited for you that you're in the queue, and hopefully you'll have enough info to base your decision on come purchase time!
