The market sets the ££ prices according to prevailing demand.

Simple as that.
I genuinely believe that the McLaren market has picked up in the last month or so. 720's have stopped their downward spiral, apart from the odd example, 650's are selling if priced well and 570's are also disappearing fast. I've been monitoring for a while as I've been in the market and lots of cars have come and gone in rapid succession.
I felt that if I didn't get in reasonably rapid the selection would dry up both because less cars coming to market but also the higher activity.

The market is very slow but the posts above show that cars are selling, I have had one viewing of my 570s and the potential buyer wanted the car but totally low balled me.

I am going to SOR it so a buyer has more option with finance and it is marketed to a wider audience.

Mclarens are a total bargain, this is my second and I don't care what any of the naysayers type on here, its been a brilliant experience for me without any hidden costs.

Problem with SOR could be the spread means you can't be as competitive as you need to be at this time of year. At least if you're dealing direct you get low balled but get to keep all of it.
I got out of my 570S at mid £70's but I've gone back into the market and secured a really well priced car with no part x so what I lost on one I regained on the next.
Finance can be arranged for private buyers fairly easily, pm me if you need to know where from.

I am in the middle of buying a 650S Spider in Volcano Red, I liked the black one's both at main dealers but the red won the day. It's such a fab colour in the sunlight. I had a 570 Coupe before, which I recently sold into the trade, however it was the lure of the Spider and some more much needed power got me looking hehe. Good time to buy, market's softened off so I jumped in with both feet.
Volcano colours are fantastic...excellent choice Sir. thumbup

Are there any Independents operating now on servicing and warranty renewals?

Current running costs at main Mclaren dealers may well be what puts off perspective buyers

There is one other offering for Warranty. A few guys that will happily work on Mclarens. Some of them very good.

I have had two Mclarens and have never spent a penny over what I pay for servicing, warranty and tyres. Part of the attraction for me is the fixed priced motoring.

also bonkers performance, unparalleled handling with carbon tub, silly doors, British brand, great looking cars. The worst bit is depreciation but buy right and you can minimise this.

Tks.

So as a ball park what would you suppose annual running costs, excluding tyres but including warranty, would be on a 570s? tks

36k and with 6 months warranty still left. Above average mileage but this was reflected in the price.

Understood.

Any major issues during that time ?

Would you consider running a 570 out of warranty ?

Finally average annual running costs inclu warreanty?

Sorry for all the questions but you are clearly the man to ask given you covered some miles in your car.

I bought it at 34k in April this year so I don't have the data you're looking for.
I certainly wouldn't run one without a warranty though, too many little niggles reported on here and in real life, my car had an expensive mishap on day 1 of ownership that was covered by warranty so in my case I'm biased.

I have run 2 McLarens for 30k miles.

I have never been left by the side of the road. I have had issues with a suspension on the 12c that the tech picked up on, I had a brake calliper replaced due to a thread on the nipple while being serviced.

I had an ISG replaced on the 12c as apparently it wasn't working properly. I also had a coolant leak which was a hose clamp.

No issues on the 570s in a year and 7k miles. They replaced a wheel arch clip when it was in for a service.

Buy one you can see the fault history for and one that has done a few miles.

Ah I also had a faulty door latch on 12c which was replaced for soft close upgrade. All under warranty.

Unless you have deep pockets and can afford to take the risk with self-warranty, the fixed costs and peace-of-mind from a McLaren Warranty is worth it.

As an alternative, you may want to consider a warranty with Thorney Motorsport > https://www.thorneymotorsport.co.uk/product/mclare...

£250 a tyre, budget for two every 8k, and all four every 15k.

Servicing, budget £1k a year, but this will be higher then lower year on year as it changes between major and minor services.

25mpg roughly.

If you're lucky, it will be less than £250 a tyre. I just did 4 on the 650 for £659 due to Costco offer (£100 off 4).

I'm still jealous of 25mpg though. frown

Forgetting the warranty costs i'd say that's very reasonable. Is that with main agent ?

Is the battery covered under the warranty too?
