Nothing to do wit this thread really but an add just popped up on my PH home pace for a US car dealer for some reason....McLaren Charlotte...so I clicked on it and looked at the inventory, fk me ! 50 McLafen’s in stock of which a mere 25 are 720s’s ! And just the 13 600 LT’s....
Wouldn’t it be great to have that much choice in this country !

A good few 720s in Beverly Hills Mclaren. Mclaren sending a lot of cars to dealers that sold well the year before. One might say, sending a few too many..Wouldn’t it be great to have that much choice in this country !

Mclaren Beverly Hills
It's v possible main Mclaren dealers look for higher margins as their overheads etc are prob higher than indy dealers, my part exed car was a V12 Vantage S which they gave me 63k for, they had it advertised at 70k within a few days and the car was sold within 10. They had two 570s in stock at the time, the one I bought was the better spec by some way with slightly higher miles but was on for 9k less than the other one which was SOR, the reality is alot of SOR stock is not priced properly hence why it appears some cars are sitting around for a while.

This is because in general the selling price for SOR cars is ultimately determined by the owner, who in general always believe their cars are worth more than they are. Whereas a dealer that owns stock is more likely to have a more realistic view of what the right price should be, especially as he/she has cash tied up in the asset which he/she needs to liquidate to make his/her business work. SOR cars can sit on the market for ages while the owner wallows in denial and the dealer is under no real pressure and can add it to his advertised inventory to draw attention to his other stock from it. Disclaimer: there are some owners who do put their cars on SOR at realistic prices. Apparently.

One could argue that majority of 720s coupe and 600 LT stock is effectively SOR. Historically Mcl were building cars without orders (and still are just not as many) and warehousing them in lock ups. We are talking about old new unregistered 40-50 cars and that's just the UK. They're not even in the classifieds as they want to sell their used 2017, 18 and 19 plate cars first! What a mess.
Not sure I agree they are effectively SOR who would MCL return them to ? Racer26 said:
