Just want to say that Alistair Bols was most helpful to me today over the phone-I haven't bought a car from him but just sought his advice which he freely gave and I'd just like to say thank you!

If only other dealers were like this!

Alistair if you're reading this, I bought the car we discussed.

This is sure becoming the norm, I don't think any dealer would recommend a bad deal or wrong car for the customer. They want to keep high their reputation and a customer not happy can make lots of damage to their business.

Well done.

Refreshing that someone has taken the time to applaud the dealer for his help without reward in a public forum. clap

He's a top bloke. I have bought 2 McLaren's but unfortunately not from Alistair as he didn't have what I wanted at the time but even so he provided advice knowing the cars I was buying were not from him. I don't know any other car dealer that would do that. I would have no hesitation in recommending purchasing or selling via AB, he's a legend in McLaren circles.

Will call him as I am in market to swap out of my 599 (long time Ferrari fan) into a McL.

I went to a London main dealer. I tried to arrange a test drive but three follow up emails went unanswered including leaving mobile details and availability for a proper run out (not just 20min dribble around Mayfair).

I sent a final email saying I was disappointed at lack of anything close to customer service and have moved on. I got some trite response about being busy and let’s try again!

Aston Martin is on its back and McL are slashing new car prices undermining the brand. Customer service is totally within its control but my experience tells me something is rotten. Please tell me McL experience isn’t like this otherwise I will stay with the Ferrari

Get in touch with McLaren New Forest if you want to be treated like a potential customer. I've just bought a new 600LTS from them and they were excellent, really professional, knowledgeable and they were keen to do business.
Don't accept anything less at this level.

I, too, echo the positive comments regarding Alistair, in my conversations with him I always found Alistair to be helpful and courteous even if I wasn't buying anything from him directly.

Normally I’m the first to complain but this gent was very helpful and 100% believes in the cars. To the posted coming out of a 599, don’t be put off- I’ve not found Ferrari dealers that great!

Great when folk post positive Mac experiences smile - I would def consider AB when and if I decide to move my 570 on - which at the moment is highly unlikely - it is the most brilliant car I have ever owned or driven!

He also knows where the cars are...tell him what you are after and he will probably be able to find it. Bought mine brokered via him off market.

I have also bought from AB and can recommend him, I can also recommend McLaren New Forest, which is a recently opened dealership (alongside Bentley) in the New Forest but only 2 minutes from junction 1 M27, so easily accessible. Unlike other Mc dealers, they are happy to give you a proper test drive on decent roads. They re also making an effort with local Mc owners whether we bought from them or not. Highly recommended, if you call ask for Harry. As an example of how they differ from other dealers, I thought they may be upset that I recently upgraded to a 675LT and ended up not buying their car as I found another in a colour I prefer. When they found out through a fellow owner that I had bought elsewhere, I received a very nice email saying they love the colour of the one I bought and would love to see it! Not a standard dealer response! The only other Mc dealership I have been impressed with is Glasgow, not bought from them, but very helpful in person a on the phone and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from them either in spite of living at the other end of the country.

I know experience seems to vary, but when I bought my car from Ascot I had two separate test drives, and I chose the entire route on the second one.
