Would definitely recommend a Mclaren as long as it either has warranty, or a very solid history of being taken care of.
I would recommend getting a PPI done.
I think the warranty seems to be a recurring theme lol.
Now just need to test drive one and a 991.2 to see what suits me best
Biggest dilemma is 2 seater 570S v the advantage of rear seats in the 911. With 2 kids who I love taking on road trips it would break my heart to say no to either of them and only take 1

Ok, can I suggest you bring your kids with you to the dealer.

I am sure they'll pick the McLaren wink

I think they will to especially If it is green lol. Only problem will be the Almighty fight as who gets to ride in the passenger seat lol
Still nice dilemma to have

Now that would be a no brainer. Need to sell a few more bottles of sanitiser next week to make that happen lol

Agree with them they’ll do one week end each. Honestly, kids will love it. 911 is just a normal coupe.

Definitely!

I am down in Broughty Ferry...i am sometimes up your way as my bestie is out at Bridge of Don.

Few macs here local to me...white 540, black 570, purple 570 spider, black 675LT spider and a red and black senna.
Next time you are up in Aberdeen give me a shout we should meet up and have a chat over a cuppa, social distancing of course as I am near Fraserburgh
No probs!

With luck it can tie in with meeting up with Justin also.

Not a McLaren owner but have had many Porsches including 911s.

On the other hand, I do tend to agree with the statement that a McLaren is a supercar and a Porsche is not, ( apart from the CGT/918).

I am just very used to Porsches and drive one almost every day. I am not a huge fan of the appearance of the McLaren, which is of course purely a matter of taste and not a reflection against the car. My general Porsche experience with lots of hard driving and tracking is that they are tough, reliable cars by and large.

Follow your gut instinct...I doubt if you will be disappointed by either choice.

Well yes, Porsches very reliable.

But then, seen engine issues on GTs....

Other issues as well...my infotainment head unit needed replacement after 3 yrs (981 GTS).

GT3 rr window cracking (who said only McLarens...)

Porsches have better construction quality for sure though, but driven by mass production.

I remember watching / listening to an account of a mother ,who after the Tsunami in Thailand, was stuck in fast moving waters holding on to her 2 children. She could not hold on to both but knew if she let either one go, that would result in their death. Her words was how. do do you decide who to let go?
I know this is not as dramatic but it would genuinely break my heart if both wanted to come with and I could only take one with me . I would rather just take another car tbh than face that decison .
So maybe the solution is buy both or just buy the Mclaren and use it as just for myself.
Until wee Nioola eases the lockdown and allows garages to open again so I can test drive both and see what suits me . All I know is thanks to you the possibility of owning a Mclaren is not as mad as I thought I was going to be, as long as you get one with a warranty and it is well looked after it should not cost too much more run than a 911
Thanks guys

I think that is the same conclusion I have come to ( except I think they are absolutely beautiful and the 12C is a future classic )
Glad we are on the same wavelength

Ok need your help guys.

Can you post any links for any decent 540C / 570s / 570 Gt for sale .
Mileage not major factor as long as not stupid high. But can you tell mw what is considered high mileage so I don't put my foot in it please
Condition and history very important no accident repaired please
Any colour but NOT black please unless it is an exceptional car, nightmare to look after. Green or Blue ideally but will consider any colour
Location not an issue will travel
Budget anything up to £85K but must have Mclaren warranty or be able to get a Mclaren Warranty as part of deal
Ideally 2017 upwards ( mate pushing it but see a few cars at this age or newer at my price point or slightly lower )

Hit me with what you can find out there as work is so busy I am struggling to get time to look
No hurry but at the same time ready to go for the right car

Honestly, are you buying a car for you? Then it’s the most important part of the experience, late nights and find it on your own. Come here for advices once you’ve found something. smile

So busy at work so usually working 8 am to 3am
Genuinely not got time to trawl through lots of ads and then miss an order deadline as that would be harmful to my business

Question to the 570s owners past or present...

Have you tracked the car and how do they stack up when given a hard time ? I do about 5 to 7 trackdays a year and have read a few things that put me off like pre and post trackday inspection ?? Ceramics hold up, tyres ???
