over £7k Mclaren service and warranty plus £6k for proper PPF = 13k

It might not be a lot to some BUT it made my new toy a "tad" expensive for me at this time.
McLaren warranty on 675LT = £3,500, service around £900 total should be £4,400? Unless car needed additional work to get back into warranty? All McLaren & AB cars come with a warranty?
Some PPF installers take the piss. I had some wild speculative quotes come in for the newly painted 720S from installers who have been following my thread on PH and FB. If someone has quoted £6K for PPF, I’d show them the door. Shouldn’t be paying no more than £4K for a full Expel PPF on a 720S - which is a complex shape to cover - to include pre-polish and ceramic coating.

I must have been given the wrong prices then, for both the warranty last years was £5,400 (so the invoice said) and the service cost was around £1,500 (so the invoice said)

Where do you have your work done and I'll ring them.

I'm talking genuine Mclaren and not mickey mouse stuff, are you ?

If the purchase of a perfect new car is being jeopardised by a few thousand pounds out of £235k it suggests you need to lower the budget and likewise expectations/standards in reality
Personally if it was the right car for the long term I would sell a limb to get it and increase the size of the paper round but then I do anything for cars.
Don't think these 675LT's will be around forever as more collectors and enthusiasts switch on to them

McLaren cars come with a warranty, 12 month minimum but pretty sure I've heard someone ITK say AB supply their own warranties.

Really can't afford to get it wrong as it intends to be the "keeper" car so it needs to the right car, free from stories or accuses.driving

I got quotes from 7 companies for my 650 and none of them were under £4k (inc VAT). Quite a few were under without vat, but my quotes ranged from about £4,500 - £5,500 with vat included.
Certainly would not have paid £6k though!

I did 2,200 miles in my 675LT this winter when I bought in Jan till lock-down, so 6 weeks. Absolutely no issues at all. It has been fantastic. Talking with other owners its a similar experience, very few have issues with the 675LT even owners who have had from new and done 10k miles plus say its the most reliable McLaren. As stated above there was 5 years + practice with the other P11 cars before they made the 675LT so most, if not all of the issues, with the 12C / 650S had been ironed out.
Pics?

Absolutely that's why that car is almost a one off and very sensibly priced given the mileage. Delivery mileage and a saving of £80k off list, there aren't going to be many 4 year old cars like that coming up let alone 675LT spiders of which there is circa 40 in the UK.
Hope you can find away round it my lord

As I own one what do you think? You think I get a Mickey Mouse service under some railway arches somewhere on a £200k+ car! Bell & Covill do my servicing they have looked after my Lotus's for years. I know over 50 x 675LT owners through the owners club and the service for 4/5 years is around the £800 - £1200 mark depending on what needs doing. Warranty increases from £3,500 to £5,000 pa at 5 years old I think. So if the LT just clicked over 5 years then the £5k would apply. However you can buy 2 years in one go. If you buy from McLaren you can usually negotiate up to 24 months in the purchase price and AB has a good warranty too.

Once the AB part is mentioned everything loses all credibility, I was being offered a 6mths warranty and as most of their adverts say.
you can pay extra for something else. Lets not go there again yikesyikes

Yes, you can save money if you do the Mclaren Warranty for two years then its nearly £8k - you're as bad as her indoors at spending my money hippy

Ok, so to recap it’s because car is 5 yrs old (dev mileage really? Lol)

£5k warranty
£1k service

£6k?

Yes ppf I’d say £5k, if done properly like at Topaz.

So you are on a conservative budget, the warranty, service and ppf

Its only fair to say Its Mclaren Bristol I have asked for the warranty, the service
and TOPAZ Bristol for the ppf

So you are at £11k and using the people above its closer to £13k (inc vat) if you are claiming the vat back then your right, but I can't claim it back on a super car item.

Perhaps you have mates rates, where I don't

Not wanting to rock the boat, but all the costs you mentioned are very toppy.

Topaz are expensive for PPF. I had a quote from them last year which was IMHO just ridiculous. Try https://www.facebook.com/prodetailuk/ in Swindon. Well thought of and used by many McLaren owners. They have my 720S at the moment, as well as 675LT. Expel approved. Did my previous 720S last year which I was very pleased with.

If you want to get the PPF and detailing done well, and at a fair price, I recommend Azuri.

I had my car (Ferrari) detailed by them recently. They were excellent.

As long as you extend the warranty even the day before the McLaren turns 5 years old, the warranty shall remain at around the £3600 mark for its 5th year...buy it on its 5th birthday or the day after and it jumps to around £4800.

5 year service is around £1000 or just less.

All inc. VAT.

I think we agree on Warranty? Unless it’s not 5 yrs old yet - see post above.

Service then, what was the list of parts due? It could be extra service due to being 5 yrs old? Was it really dev mileage (<100 miles)? Again, 650S is saying £1k for 5yr which means it’s a standard service (I assume 4th yr service or 3rd are more expensive)

Topaz is the one to go for peace of mind, £6k a bit too much, but then it depends if you ask for extra like double cover on door skirts, diffuser...
