How important is a nose lift on a Mclaren?
Discussion
650/675 lifts both axles and very few didn't have it
Sport series (540/570/600) it was only the front and wasn't always optioned on the cheaper cars
Never really used it that often on the 650 in 20k miles, used it more in the 675, more as a precaution
I wouldn't buy one with out it as its expensive to retrofit

Car 570S.
The ground clearance is good generally. For example my previous car (a GT4) would need extreme care in comparison.
Having said that I only remember one light low speed scuff (without the car raised) and it caused this damage.
Fortunately the part was relatively cheap. But yes - I would say nose lift essential.

Not many 12C have lift and it’s not really an issue. Standard road speed humps are fine with a 12C (and cleared better than in our R8). Some of the more aggressive narrow ones found at hotels / golf courses will need care / diagonal approach to avoid scraping the under body vanes. They can be removed no issue (4 bolts) if it’s a concern and they aren’t expensive to replace anyway (£40 odd if I recall correctly).
The only other issue is likely to be Camber at driveway entrances where the very front of the under tray may ground if too severe (the splitter is slightly higher up out of the way). Again diagonal approach will help. Have a feel under there if looking at a 12C, but you probably won’t find anything to worry about.
