Yes indeed, new record for a production car. 2.1 seconds 0-60 too on his best run.

The really shocking thing is you can see from the dash that when he used (crappy) PZeros, they were cold. Very impressive indeed. (I really hate PZeros.)

The car is indeed a monster, but a very driveable one, thanks to the incredible steering and chassis feedback it gives the driver.

The worst thing about the 765LT is having to wait for mine smile

Jump to 12:15 if you just want the spoken conclusion. It will impress Brooks even more when he drives it more on road.

Just be aware tyres are much less of a factor as that is a very sticky drag strip surface. You cannot walk on it in trainers as you would get stuck.
Still very impressive.

had to be the case, there's no way it was that much faster than the 720s with the stated modifications of being -30kg +30hp

You forgot the lower final drive, I reckon the peak power will be approaching Senna levels when measured on something decent like a Maha.

It may well be all round faster than the Senna.

I cannot see why you would pay twice the price for a Senna that is very aesthetically challenged.

Interesting that a good ole Ford muscle car was quicker than a Huracan Evo and the new Corvette.

Watching that 765LT lap it looks like it is possible to make up some time in several places on that lap (armchair racer here :-) ).

As for the Mustang beating the Huracan, I suspect the US pro drivers are very experienced at getting the best from US muscle cars, possibly not so much mid-engined Italian nutters? but again, I'm just an armchair racer :-)

In past years Corvettes and various other US 'heavy metal' have outpaced other 'super' cars on US performance tests too :-)

Definitely agree with the 765 lap. A lot looks untidy to me.

Novitec should maybe lend them there car and see how agile it is after there mods .....

FWIW I've raced in US and Europe and can't say I observe generic differences in capabilities. Its a very international scene - many racers in the US have grown up karting in Europe (vice versa for me).

While the C&D guys are very familiar with the VIR track - there is no question they would need more time with the cars before they can get the best from them, not to mention using the gizmos them have on them these days. I'm still working on improving with my own 650s - but I dare say I would do better than them with my own car (I think they got 2:43 or so with it or so back in 2015) and prefer doing that than jumping to the next new thing.

But still this is a good view for those that do jump to the next new thing - how the car performs when you are not familiar with it.

I know of at least one UK customer delivered. There's probably others now.

Just a reminder that shorter gear doesn’t give more power.

Still an astonishing result from McLaren.

Best performance oriented hyper/supercar brand on the market these days.

Indeed. From what I remember of the VIR track the last set of esses significantly favors AWD/wide-track-and-rubber cars that can gain ground, and with no straight after the esses where Macs obliterate the competition, makes this not actually even the best track for them.

Depends on the track.

On a fast high downforce track, the Senna will be quicker.

Anywhere else, including road, the 765LT will be quicker.

So McLaren have sold / a deposit on each and every 765 coupe; none going to be sitting in a showroom with a price tag.

So much for the doom mongers.

If only they had capped the production on 600lt's instead of flooding the market.

I assume with the 765LT being sold out in the UK that no one was able to obtain any discount unlike the 600LT which has been.

Would be good to know as have been offered a cancelled order but no discount is being offered
