They oldest car they sell as 'McLaren Qualified' is 2015, so I guess a 13 plate car is 'too old' for them to re-sell. Of course nothing stopping them taking it as part-ex and selling it on to trade / auction, in principle.
Didn't realise that...do Lambo Ferrari Porsche etc have a similar policy?RSbandit said:

So I was going to say that yes, all manufacturers have a maximum age limit on the cars that they will re-sell themselves as 'approved used'. After all, they have to guarantee them, etc, and they may not even retain parts for older cars. Eg Merc only sell cars back to 2014, etc. However, I didn't know this until I went and looked just now, but in fact the companies you mentioned have all got into the classic market, and do happily re-sell their back catalogue. So you can buy an approved used Diablo Roadster, F355, or even a 1961 Porsche 356 roadster.

Why don’t you sell it back to the dealer who sold it to you?
Surely they would offer you the best price out of anyone.
Yes I contacted THJ and Tom replied asking what I wanted for it.Surely they would offer you the best price out of anyone.
Reality is even the best dealer spread is gonna sting.
Anyhow, the car must be reading this thread , as when I went to fuel it up last night I noticed on the way home the water temp was 3/4 on the gauge instead of 1/2 way.
So it’s going into McBrum, hopefully just a sticky thermostat
Good job I kept the warranty going !

After watching the Jay Emm video I don’t think anyone sane would buy a car from an auction again.
That was a trade auction, you can't access that. Remember the trade fix cars at trade prices to re-sell. That's how they make money. They don't pay £200ph labour costs like the rest of us so that FF would be a good buy for a motor trader. At a public auction the car is available for viewing and you can check the car out, see its service history, even chat to the owner. Its not a much different to a private sale. Don't confuse a trade auction with a public auction. I have bought cars at public auctions and they have been better than many dealer cars, one I still have after 2 years and 6k miles not a single issue.
