Any insights on the roller coaster that Huracan Performante values have been through since release?

Is the current surge in prices being driven by desirability or general used car price inflation?

Notwithstanding the phenom that it is, this would be the first Lambo almost reaching original list price levels in an extremely compressed timeframe?

I think all Huracan values are improving based on general used car demand, but the Performante more so due to rarity. I estimate in the UK there are around 340 and 140 of them Spyders, see my post below for where I get my estimates from.

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

I’m being approached to buy my car (Spyder) a lot, dealers can’t get them fast enough for customers who want them over the Evo, not sure what effect the STO will have but it’s not for me, different kind of car. So I don’t think owners are letting them go easily. I can’t think of another car I would have over the Perf for the price.

This bloke agrees the prices have gone nuts, and has some nice graphs to illustrate.

All academic as I’m never selling smile

That is a remarkable effort. Have you got any price history data from your research?

Would be interesting to see the trend since release given Performante prices dipped massively in the UK during the first few years and have only rebounded more recently.

The US market as described by FourWheelTrader in the video may have not seen such a hard decline early on and therefore the % increase over the last year may be higher in the UK.

Watched Seb Delanney's new video on the Perf Syder last night,

He use to irritate me but he seemed to be maturing with age or was it the subject matter, confused

Actually watched it right the way through.

Performantes are trading over list in the US, and are edging towards list in the UK.. Reasons as always aren’t obvious, and a lot is sentiment, but relative rarity, reliability/quality, incredible NA engine/noise, Nurburgring lap record, etc all add up to something special in my opinion.
The STO will have some trickle down enhancement for the Perf, and I’ve not yet seen any evidence that it’ll be quicker than it, on track perhaps, on road no, unless you prefer hanging the back out on roundabouts lol..

That is remarkable and anecdotally not duplicated elsewhere in the Lambo range.

Even comparing like-for-like with the older vintage V10 (Gallardo), no noticeable increase in prices.

Perhaps this may have something to do with the trend:

Have you checked Urus prices?
They are trading over list for newer ones…

Fair point but perhaps only further confirms the bizarre trend of newer cars appreciating relative to older cars.

Current price status: up.

Cheapest Perf I've seen in the last 18 months was £155k, cheapest a few weeks back was pushing £200k, now back down to £190k.

Thanks, this is why I call it a ‘roller coaster’. Doesn’t seem to be moving only in one direction over a meaningful period of time!

There is definitely an underlying trend upwards with variations around that trend line. These cars are quite colour etc dependent and one from a main dealer also has a 3.5k warranty attached to it, to make a like for like comparison. The question to my mind is when will it cool. This seems to be because of extra disposable income from people not travelling plus a shortage of new supply, both temporary factors

Phenomenal outcome BuntyKilla.

Skittles: you hit the nail on the head with the question about how long the current run will last. All those factors don't seem to necessarily play out across other marques or even other models in the Lambo range. Also, do main dealers extend the warranty even for later models which are under manufacturer warranty?

I believe a main dealer has to sell with a minimum of 1 year warranty and the warranty they put on is in multiples of a year. In other words, I bought a Perf in January which had 4 months of the original warranty left so it came to me with 12+4 months warranty. If it had 12 months (or more) warranty left it wouldn't have been extended.

Helpful, thanks.

Your timing of a purchase sounds almost perfect given current trends.

I think they will drop in value again very soon, albeit very small, when Lamborghini announce the Huracan Evo Performante (or whatever they decide to call it). Most people think the STO is the Performante replacement, but it is not.

As with most trends, when a newer model arrives, the older model drops in value UNLESS the newer model loses something desirable that the last model had, such as a NA engine (458 to 488), air cooled engine (993 to 996), etc…

Yes, more likely an ‘Ultimae’ type model, imo..

I'm not sure there will be an Evo Performante.
A few Lamborghini dealerships have said there is one on the way…

I was surprised to hear this too.

Isn’t the EVO already based on the Performante but just softer?

The most compelling challenge with Performante values where they are (and are headed it seems) is that they are in the line of sight of used Aventador SV values.

Similar profile of a more raw driving machine with limited production run except it is the flag bearer product! Surely creates a product architecture issue for Lamborghini?
