Congratulations; looked like a great day, unfortunately I chose to go to Sandringham, won't be making that mistake again.

I took the car to North Weald airfield (courtesy of Drivers Union) to spend the day driving it with all driver assistance fully off (ESC fully off, and no VDC). This was the first time I've driven it hard with ESC fully off. Previous track or road drives have all been in ESC DYN at most, or with VDC enabled, to provide some assistance.

After an early first spin, deliberately to find its limit, I was amazed just how telepathically predictable the 765LT is. And how benign and well behaved it is at the limit.

I was expecting it to be borderline undriveable without the electronic assistance, especially in light rain on Corsas with the power these cars have. But it astonished me with how absolutely safe, secure, predictable, easy to (slightly) slide and catch the 765LT is.

What McLaren have created is absolutely astonishing. The car just feels at one with you, giving so much feedback that you know exactly what it's doing, and going to do.

I love this car.

Great day out; plenty of likeminded car enthusiasts all sharing a passion.

Not sure if AW told you to take the fast left with just one finger at the top of the steering wheel; that felt like a complete leap of faith at 70+

Yes, a lovely group of people.

Yes, Andy did say to do that smile

With all the electronics off, it definitely works better to have a lighter touch and trust the feedback from the steering and car - just as you would with an Elise. I love that telepathic steering.

When I initially "fought the car", I span it. Admittedly I was trying to provoke it to see what it would do on the limit, as we had a safe space to learn. With ESC on, bad driving habits get masked.

Yes exactly. Push it until it spins, in a safe space when testing with ESC off. What's so surprising about trying that?

Great photos with that backdrop, especially that last one, the paint really catching the setting sun. Poster-worthy stuff!

I honestly think the 765LT will go down as one of the all time greats. Astonishing car.

Thank you smile If I had some free wall space, I would indeed print one of these to put up. But then it's hard to choose vs the F35 pics or the MTC Day 1 pics. First world problems biggrin

I agree, it's so good I consider it irreplaceable and will never sell this car.

Visit to MTC last week.

For the few that aren't aware, the sign outside MTC is lit orange whenever McLaren win 1st place in a Formula 1 grand prix race.

Driving through Spain & Portugal

McLaren Owners Club tour. An epic 10 day event through Spain and Portugal, taking in some awesome driving roads and nicely twisty mountain roads with well over 1,000 of hard, fun driving.

I've now done 25+ car tours, mostly in Europe, and MOC knocked it out of the park with this one. Special mention to Martin G for his excellent routes and information.

Credit to Julen and MOC for the excellent photos.
