I would love a 620 R but they are double the price of the boggo 600!

Enjoying getting to know this anyway it. One thing I've picked up on pretty quickly is you need to build the confidence to drive it with the traction off as its very intrusive in terms of cutting throttle especially on rough roads. I was given the pointer of using the ESC down mode in Powertrain Sport which allows a tiny bit of slip but I think ESC off is the only way to go.

So settling into ownership now and what a machine the 600 is. I recall the 570 having a bit of turbo lag but the 600 they seem to have engineered most of it out. There's a sensation of it filling it's bellows but still had pace there. Actually has a quicker feeling off boost than the GT3 did off cam. That seemed to take forever to wind up.

One thing I have noticed is that it has a bit of bump steer. Bit odd on a totally standard car but bump steer it certainly does. I have it booked into the Suspension Secrets guys for a full geo and bump steer measurement in August so we'll perfect the handling and hopefully get rid of this. Also got Donington booked for next week. I'm going to refit the Trofeos as I don't really fancy mangling the PS4s really looking forward to getting it on track and really stretching its legs.

Have you viewed the carwow video of the 600lt spider v's the lambo aventador svj?

It never fails to amaze me how the McLarens hook up with the rear wheels on launch; no rear wheel drive cars should be launching as quick or quicker than 4 wheel drive rivals.

The 600lt is an absolute stonker of a car.

Yeah I saw that its amazon g that it was off the line where the 600 had the advantage against a 4x4 but then they are a light car.

Its a deeply good car I'm really glad I took the chance. Compared to the old 991 RS it replaced its twice the car for less money.

What a fail.

Good to hear you're enjoying it. I think the McLarens take a bit of time to really appreciate. Any more pics?

I've just had a rather unexpected bill with my 540C when it's in for its 5th service, but when I was there I was loving the 600LTs in stock

Hi Justin.

What was the unexpected bill?

Mines would of been kicking about there somewhere as it went in at the begging of June and only got it back last week.

Might well have been there although I only dropped it off on Thursday.

First invoice was over £13k which came as quite a shock.

Hopefully getting the car back tomorrow but think it's time to consider what I'm doing with it

Yeah, it's mostly corrosion.. Air Con pipes, Coolant pipes, wiper motor failed, corroded/broken springs. Corrosion on discs.

Jesus Justin. Annoying issues that shouldn't be happening.

How old is your car?

I know Mclaren have been ducking out of covering corrosion issues with panels on cars over 5 yrs old despite there being a 10 yr warranty but pipe/brake corrosion would surely be a warranty item if you had one obviously.

Unacceptable to be having corrosion issues on a car of that age!

On the broken spring front don't McLaren replace the whole unit (inc shock) rather than just replacing the spring? I was given to understand this equates to £2.5k per corner?

The car is just coming up 5 year old. 14k miles

That's correct. Two broken springs means two new full damper assemblies frown

I think pretty much all of it would be non-warranty

I'll update my thread this weekend, to save hijacking this one, sorry OP!

Thorney can provide replacement springs now - something like £100 each.
I've been told I have corrosion on both my front springs so they'll probably snap at some point - I'll be buying springs, not entire shocks.
