There's a black spider that's been sitting on the mkt for months at £150k apparently that car was tuned also as it had been with another indie dealer then disappeared and resurfaced elsewhere...also has comfort seats. I'd want it to be under £140k to deal but even then doesn't have the right seats so maybe £130k!
A gearbox is what? 20-30k on these cars and a few 600 LT's have had gearbox replacements as the software from factory is more aggressive, so I'd most definitely not want to risk a void warranty due to a car been tuned, you could easily be coughing up a 30k bill with warranty claim is rejected.

So yes a black comfort 600 LT that has been tuned, 130k max, the yellow one I might be tempted at 135-140k but anything over just better paying more for a decent unmolested car and peace of mind, all day long at these kind of values.

For me got to be a bright colour, red, yellow, green, orange, blue are all on shortlist, has to have buckets as well. So no white, grey, silver or black cars for me.

With another of your posts, I cannot get my head around how many 600LTs have required a replacement gearbox at Guildford alone.

In around late 2020 before I bought my current car, I was on the line for getting a napier 600 spider from a well known dealer with 6k miles, and back then we had agreed on £137k.

After a bit of Internet sleuthing I found a good few videos of the same car stationery getting the nuts revved of it just so surrounding people were impressed with 18" long flames shooting out of the exhausts.

Then I found it had been won on the '7 day auction' site for the princely sum of £10 for a ticket.

At that stage it was 18 months old.

There seems to be plenty of YouTube clips of 600s being ragged and revved.

Considering there is not many of them in the UK, you have to really do your homework if you want to get a good one.

Plenty of good owners, but it seems an equal amount of not so good owners.

Its a great car standard; why would you mess with it?

If you know the number plate for this car can you share it please?

I think we maybe need a thread posting for potential 600LT to avoid, due to mapping, exhaust modifications or dubious owners.

From doing more research the yellow Mclaren was or still is owned by a young forex trader, who seem to just rag the car around London, fit exhaust and get it tuned.

That car registration is TP20 MCL it may have also had the registration PE45ANT at somepoint as well. This car has been mapped, is volcano yellow, wing louvres, 12 speaker audio, currently for sale at Strafford Cars in Brighton on SOR I believe at £154,950, ONE TO AVOID.

The car no longer has the distinctive plate that it was offered with, as it appears to be on a BMW X6 now.

As its not currently for sale, I would feel uncomfortable about putting up the plate it was originally on to help identify it, as someone, possibly on here owns it maybe without knowing its history and thats not fair to tarnish someone else's current pride and joy.

It had distinctive features, and I feel I would be able to spot it if a dealer registered it for sale.

On checking through my correspondence from Dec 2020, it was actually less than what I posted as the price it could be had for; it was covid panic sale times.
Fair enough, if you can post as much as the spec as possible though please at least then if I or others comes across a car that is identical spec they can do their own further due diligence on the car, no one wants to drop 150k on a potentially tuned car to potentially have issues further down the road with it.

Hi there

Test drove the Helios Orange at Baytree cars today and the car seems immaculate but noticed they have had it since November 21 and the warranty expire May 22.

FL19 AAJ is the registration and I wondered if anyone knew the car? It’s comfort seats with leather interior is this a major off putting for most potential buyers or is Helios Orange not a desirable colour?

I am (sort of) starting to look more seriously. I quite liked the Abyss Black car at AB but that is now sold. Reminded me of the E46 M3 Carbon Black.
Certain cars seem to sell really quick and yet others hang around for ages.

Top555 had a car this week and it’s already sold, whereas the car I looked at today dealer has nearly had it a year but it seemed spot on.

Good info on the seats.

So the P1 and Senna seats sit you a few inches lower in the cabin then?

Anyone know the weight differences?

Also is that true about McLaren voiding warranties on cars sold SOR via a third party dealer then?

Comfort seats are somewhere between 25-30kg

P1 are 10.5kg

Senna 8kg (4kg for the shell)

Extended warranty cannot be transferred if the car is sold through a non-franchise dealer. If it’s a private sale it can be transferred as long as the process is followed. Make sure you do it properly.
Thank you.
Those weight differences in the seats probably don’t impact performance at all then.

But if P1 and Senna sit lower then I get how they I’ll give the driver a better feel of connection with the car.

So if I buy a car via a third party dealer on SOR I guess the only way to do it properly is that the original owner is present to do the exchange / paperwork etc?

^This is for the extended warranty only. The three year initial manufacturers warranty will always be with the car, until it's three years old.
Good to know so I can essentially buy a car that is within three year manufacturer warranty and have no issues with the warranty been voided, I assume I just visit McLaren 30 days prior to the warranty expiring to have an extended warranty put on the car for 1 or 2 years?

Hi there

So found a potential car, checked it out today and it’s in superb condition and absolutely stunning the spec is:

2020 600 LT Spider
Volcano Red
Carbon Louvre front wings
MSO Black Pack
Body colour roof
Diamond cut snow flake wheel design
Black calipers
PPF
P1 buckets with red stitching
Red stitching on dash and doors
12 speaker audio
Carbon and alcantera interior
Motorised steering adjustment column
AC, camera, sensors
MSO carbon sills
11,800 miles
1 previous owner

Owner offered it to me for £155,000 which I think is fair for an MSO car with good spec, I’m a little undecided on colour as only got to see it on a dull gloomy day. Can’t find anything to suggest it’s been remapped or messed with and brakes in good condition.

Perfect specification for me and just need to device if it’s the colour for me, never seen a 600LT before in Volcano Red.

So manufactures warranty until March 2023, I guess in Feb I take it to get extended warranty before the manufacturer warranty expires and they can then address anything under factory warranty and then put me a 1 or 2 year warranty on the car?

Does it have nose lift? Just it's one of the more significant options when it comes to resaleability.

Seems a fair price (pretty good price, but perhaps about right for a private sale).

I think Volcano Red is one of the more sought-after colours (have seen a few VR 650S/570S sell quickly), and would certainly be near the top of my list, but only you can decide if it's a colour you want, obviously.
Yes it had the lifter as I tested it to make sure it worked. smile

Thats a great spec and volcano red absolutely pops when its in the sunlight; the volcano colours are the best IMO.

I wouldn't hesitate or think about what the market may or may not do regards values, life is too short.

Looks like a F355 keeping it company; sign of an owner that is a real car guy.

Great it has lift, but I think I have used it twice in the last 16 months and the carbon front spoiler seems bigger and lower on the 675; maybe that's an optical illusion though.

Get it bought before someone else does!
Yes the owner like myself is a petrol head with a lovely collection. Forgot to mention it also had stuff like soft close, security pack, pretty much has everything it should have along with some nice MSO upgrades, it also has coloured roof which I prefer to the dark roof.

Judging by the age and mileage the owner is probably coming out of the cheap lease deal.

Have it checked out thoroughly before pulling the trigger.
The owner owns the car outright, he is second owner and had it a year. smile

The owner will need to transfer the warranty to you, in case you werent aware.

Looks like a great spec and price too, get it bought and make the most of it, you will love it.
its under manufacturers warranty as less than three years old, is that still necessary?
Not an issue as Mclaren Manchester have been hugely helpful, Ben there is amazing!
