675LT - Ongoing ownership news, reviews & updates

[JPCGT]

Tough one, given the lack of availability of 675LTs - a lot of them are in long term ownership with prices already north of this figure. Looks like comfort seats and body coloured rear bumper section and side vents, if not mistaken. If it was me, I'd wait and pounce as soon as one you liked came available.

I was simply asking for advice as i m looking to buy title didnt say uk specific, i dont think?

They do seem much better value in europe (i can buy in either uk or europe) vs uk and its not a mclaren thing as 720s 600lt etc are the usual 30% higher than uk equivalents

What makes you think poor spec other than what i pointed out? Genuine question as i m no expert on mclarens and tossing up between 600, 720, 675, yes i know they all drive very differently but i already have a collection of cars so any one of them fits nicely.. but one eye is always on pricing at this point

There is a mystique around the 675LT and in fact all the LT models. Possibly better built than the donor models

In reality they all drive and handle pretty similar with the LT’s being lighter, although harsher, giving that bit more connection etc.

I’ve had them all and unless you are going to regularly go on track then the 720s is great value and the better road car and bizarrely still faster than a 675LT on many tracks.

Thanks, those were my thoughts, with the LTs being more likely to hod value, though 720 spiders pretty much hit their bottom line these last couple of years..

I guess a 750 spider is the best mix of them all, with the trade off being that they still have a bit to fall price wise, with the 720 market controlling how far that is likely to be.. 155ish being bottom for 720 spiders i doubt the 750 spiders will go much lower than 180 over the next couple of years (talking main dealer or warrantied low mileage cars here)

I must admit i like the 675LT spiders, as much as the 720 and 600lt and lets face it, the performance across all of them is astounding so not that fussed, the added comfort level of the 720 on top of this though, as an older guy, stretches its usage further and adds value..

For me being able to shop both sides of the water is better, and i seem to be much more obsessed with colour and carbon of late, for some reason never would do black or near black cars but now? since the collection has gotten larger, colour has become ‘my thing’ and it annoys slightly as i’m moving away from the drive and more about looking back at it, ho hum..

so the wider choice i give myself the better as volcano colours are arent so easy to come by and i’m finding it a little bit tedious now.

Tim really knows his stuff and I'm really happy for his business success and more recently personal life success. A bit o/t but I once reached out to Tim for help contacting a certain person that I felt would be able to help with a business idea I had at the time. He didn't ask for anything and couldn't have been more accommodating including his personal views on the idea (which were all good). Top bloke.

Tim is a top chap. When I was looking to buy a 12C I didnt know anyone anyone who owned one, apart from Tim. Of course I didnt know him personally, just by YouTube. But I reached out to him and he called me and spent almost an hour on the phone putting all my concerns to rest. Super knowledgeable and super helpful. I'm glad you had a similar experience.

Late to the party on this.
The only other one I've seen with painted rear carbon was MSO white with purple lacquer tint.
It hung around and swapped hands at low prices several times.

Having had a clubsport and sold a couple of years ago, and then a clubsport roof scoop which I should never had sold, thought a spider will be perfect for the summer.

I think prices are on the rise so bit the bullet now instead of maybe missing the boat completely.

Having had F40's, Speciale's, 997 4.0's, etc, when the market does move it tends to move very quickly and then settle at the higher figure. And out of all the cars I have had, the 675 is right up there, and is way behind on price on almost every other car brand.
