Your new 720s is lovely and to get one done zero miles after 6 years is rare, do you know any more details about what they had to do to it to prep it after being sat for 6 years in that collection? Ferrari 360 and 430, could pick up for half the price they are now a few years back. 355 for a qtr of where they are now.

It comes back to the point that keeps being made; what else can you buy for similar money that comes close. A Huracan, 458 or 488 are all still tens of thousands more expensive. 430 and gallardo are a bit less but are also a significant step down IMHO. Bought mine for £82000 two years ago, someone could offer me £100,000 for it tomorrow but if I took it what would I get that is comparable and isn't made by McLaren. If the current owners thought there were other cars worth having for the money they are currently changing hands for at least some would be selling up, but they aren't.

It may be over priced at £120k, depending on spec and condition, but we know of cars that have sold quickly at £110k, £115k and £118k, and an MSO car that was in the £130k’s (no proof that it sold), so it’s not a million miles away now.
Obviously also depends as to whether it is still a little tatty, or whether the last owner improved it in their time.
Still quite a jump in price from 12 months ago.

I considered a Huracan when I bought my car about 3 years ago. It wasn't the price difference that stopped me - it was the fact that they have fabric roof, which was a big negative for me vs McLaren.Prices seem to be all over the place.Looked at a storm grey coupe recently at a garage full history (not all mclaren) with full ppf couldn't find a mark on it with 26k miles on it and new ceramic discs and pads ready to be fitted.Car was up for £85k.Just couldn't get close enough on a px for my Emira car sold 2 days after I looked at it which didn't surprise me as going by what people are trying to get for ther cars was great value.

I don't even remember seeing this advertised. £85k is a good price if it was a recent sale. VVS had an almost identical coupe recently at £94k, and Sytner had a black coupe at £98k a few weeks back.Wheelspinning said:

A new Emira, 4 cyl, 420 sport, with options is pushing £150k (as reported on PH)
The price, design & ADAS technology of new cars mean the older cars will always be sought after. These cars may not rise much more, BUT, when new cars are so expensive, inflation is high and new cars are not as attractive I can't see desirability and prices falling. These older cars are 'cool', new cars are not. Who knows, perhaps you are right, crystal ball and all that....

Some might think that's a stupid thing to worry about on a supercar, but something I love about the 650 is how usable it is. I do days out in it, i do weekends away in it, I've done the big weekly shop in it, and I have even been camping with it at goodwood. The Huracan boot is absolutely tiny, and there are loads of times over the last 2 years where I took my 650S on a journey where a huracan would have to have been left at home.
They are undervalued (all 2nd hand McLaren`s) when compared to the competition due to McLaren`s woeful customer attitude.
What`s anything worth apart from food and water, and possibly shelter... bit deep but that's about the size of it.
Ultimately something is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it.
I sold my then 675LT 3 years ago for £250k, now look what they are going for, same car!!

I was disappointed with McLaren’s attitude when first looking to buy (patronising salesman in Ascot), and slowly got lite disappointed as I’ve gone on, with issues such as (I feel) unfairly rejected warranty claims and no interest in trying to make owners feel valued.
I’ve found Ferrari to be so very much better in this respect.
I understand that this is in part down to finances, but for me nowadays while I still live the car I’ve little time for the manufacturer.
