I’m half tempted to sell if they are going for such high prices.
I like mine, but just don’t get to use it. I can!t keep it at my main home, and am not getting to the others half as often as I’d like.
Sticking £120k into the S&P for a few years and avoiding insurance, maintenance etc. doesn’t maybe feel so crazy.
On the other hand, it’s mine, I know it’s a good one, and just knowing I can use it is nice.

The values don't really affect whether I'll sell or not.
We're using it for a trip down to Italy shortly - and my intention is to take a serious look at my cars after that. At least one will almost certainly go (Alfa Quad) but the 650 may well be on the list too.
On the other hand, I filled up with petrol the other day, and while waiting for the guy in front to pack up / pay for what appeared to be his monthly shop I looked out the window and thought: Damn, that's a good looking car!

How much was the one at Furlongers up for recently, I can't quite recall?
This one I think > https://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-six-of-the-bes...650S said:
Yes, there were a couple of others, incl a one of one a yellow car which all sat on sale for months. I guess 150 would have bought them at the time
But the one at Premier GT with the 265 ask has only one thousand four hundred miles on it
OK thanks, £75k more than the Furlongers car but very low miles so one for the collectors really. But the one at Premier GT with the 265 ask has only one thousand four hundred miles on it
I see that the coupe at £125k has re-appeared on AT. A white Spider has just been listed at £105k but it looks a low spec (no interior or exterior carbon), and an import, coming from Singapore.

Weird, there isn't a McLaren Knutsford. I presume they mean McLaren Manchester, but still what an odd mistake to make.

Well I guess that makes sense then, thanks. I wasn't going to lose sleep over it but it was mildly confusing.
A bit like McLaren Ascot having their workshop in Bracknell I suppose. Although I think they have subsequently moved sales to the same site in Bracknell, while still calling themselves McLaren Ascot.

And having the fault readout on the dash. I know it's just tyres, but either sort it or take the photo out.
Yea, the photo isn't really showing anything other than that there is a fault. Probably just TPMS, but why include it?Also, it's out of focus. I don't get why some sellers do this, they must have looked at the photo at some point before uploading it, and it's clearly out of focus. Who looks at that photo and thinks "Should I take that again? Nah, that'll do". The kind of thing you'd expect on Facebook Marketplace but not here.
First thing I'd want to know about this car is what's its recent history. It's 10 years old and has just come over from Singapore with 11k on the clock, has it been sat gathering dust for the last 5 years?

thank you - that is kind of what I was thinking - the owners don't "need to sell" immediately and I agree a dealer might just want to clear inventory. But nowadays it seems like they are keen to get new cars onto the lot - we will see. He had a good car (imo) and let that get away over like 1k or some immaterial number, we will see if he succeeds.
I hope I will finally be able to pick up the 675 this week .... now insured third-party only, but whatever - just don't crash it, would suck for the car given it has been crashed twice already .... :-)
Got the 675 and after one drive / 350km it immediately broke. Power steering and PCC both screwed, good start and a big bill coming before I even took it out properly - excellent start to British car ownership :-) . Freshly serviced too, which I paid for, so a bit annoying, I hope I will finally be able to pick up the 675 this week .... now insured third-party only, but whatever - just don't crash it, would suck for the car given it has been crashed twice already .... :-)
It was fast and felt like a good car for the time I drove it though.
Ah well

Sorry to hear that. If PCC = ProActive Chassis Control, I think it uses the power steering pump to pressurise the hydraulic suspension (and the lift) also. So hopefully it's only one failure rather than two, and a small rather than a large bill. Good luck getting it fixed and enjoying it further soon.It was fast and felt like a good car for the time I drove it though.

From what McL said, It sounded like a hose split and the front was full of hydraulic fluid. We will see - they hope that they can get the hose replaced and not the entire pump - update to come next week.
They will also tell me what a new rear window costs as some idiot cut a hole into it. Albeit that is not an immediate concern for me. For now just get the car on the road before winter arrives.
