its a clean car for sure! it literally looks brand new! Cant wait to get it friday! which showroom was the car @ when you saw it, and what did you think of the spec?
The car was outside the main entrance at their main showroom in Knaresborough. I think that the specification is decent, but would personally prefer a Spider and P1 or Senna seats.

Hiya mate, hope all is well.

Obviously my experience of the 600LT is a bit limited but I always thought the Turbo S felt like I was being fired out of a gun when I gave it a bit of a poke. This feels similar but from a bigger but more nimble gun. I better make sure I don't shoot myself in the foot tho biggrin
All good here thanks..I sold my last (highly modified) 911 turbo due to it feeling too fast for the road. From what i have read about the 600LT it is also very quick, but has the benefit of feeling special and involving at less jail worthy speeds. More akin to a grown up Lotus, which sounds very appealing to me. I'll be keeping a close eye on this thread to see how you and others are getting on with their recent acquisitions.

Absolutely. I've found that the car embodies drama, excitement and purpose in equal measure. The icing on the cake is that when you put the top down or even drop the back window, all the above are intensified to a whole new level, at any speed !

A Mclaren (any model) isnt going to rectify that, license loosing speeds in 6 seconds or less, it may offer more drama and sense of occasion than a Porsche on the way, but it will be brief......biggrin

it’s a shame Mclaren didn’t put more thought into the roof design on the Sports Series cars , that split in the centre when the roofs up looks awful and spoils the flow of the roofline, also just flat at the pillars behind the side windows, compared to the 7 series cars it’s a bit of a pigs ear tbh ,,

Yeah, such a shame. Just what I think about whilst I’m blasting down a b-road with the roof down. McLaren you should be ashamed ….

Just buy what a rare colour. You could buy that blindfolded and still land on your feet IMO in terms of residuals. Having said that send it to Mcl, Thorney or V for a PPI just to be on safe side and try andf knock off any remedial work required off asking price. Personally i'd want to get it back under offical Mcl warranty scheme. Worth it on a 600LT spyder mate has one from new and warranty is his friend.

Quick thoughts -

Dealer own site listing here https://www.q-cars.com/used-mclaren-600lt-eastmoor... with reg.

MoT history clean, although expires next month. Mileage looks sensible. No PPF mentioned, so check the external condition carefully in person.

Seats - there are three factory fit options, Comfort (as per 570S), P1 and Senna in ascending order of raciness. This car has the middle option P1s, probably good if they're comfortable for you - but need to try sitting in them to check.

This car lacks external visible carbon fibre that some have (most black parts can also be had in CF, also some cars have vents over the front wheels a la GT3 RS).

Further thoughts on price - seems a tad expensive to me. It has been on sale for 2.5 months (since 30th June) at this price.

This one looks an equivalent spec & mileage and is £5k cheaper
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202405290...

Alternately you could spend £2k more on this approved used one which will come with 12 months McLaren extended warranty thrown in
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202408122...

On price, I think that the seats and exterior carbon are significant, as well as mileage; cars with standard 570S 'Comfort' seats and higher mileage start from £130k.

If it was me I'd be looking to pay no more than £145k for that car, based on a quick look at what else is available.

Thanks guys, really helpful.

The plan would be to take it to V pre-purchase anyway & go from there.

The lack of the visible, exterior carbon is a bit of a bummer to be fair but this is the issue when buying used, I guess a compromise needs to be made at some point.

The green car posted looks good, whilst I have no issues with them being on track, you would think they would have slapped new tyres on it & cleaned the rubber marks off the car to at least hide the fact a little.

Thanks,

PD

It’s down to your tastes.

Paris Blue is not a common colour and I think it looks great. The extra light weight wheels in diamond cut also help make that car stand out.

I admire the grey car with the orange interior but personally I couldn’t own that car. I’m sure it looks great but for me the interior is too much.

I agree, I had a Porsche with red interior & once the new car euphoria wore off, I ended up hating it & letting it go, each to their own as ever with these things of course.

Nothing spec/colour related but heading into autumn personally i think thats strong money, its most definitely a buyers market (across the board), as Sam has said you can see how long some of these cars have been advertised for on autotrader and at this time of year we are going to get the usual winter dip in prices. If you can hold out i would be waiting till the depths of winter and you will definitely save some cash and be better off when prices bounce back in spring.

I definitely agree about taste, the available cars are mostly in quite different specs and I can certainly imagine someone falling for the blue car and not entertaining the other two I mentioned.

However, I'd say that the other two are comparable with the blue car value-wise - similar mileage, all P1 seats, none with much exterior carbon. So my suggestion was not so much 'buy one of these other cars instead', and more that they were examples to suggest that the blue car's asking price is a bit toppy, and that you might either want to negotiate hard (using these example to support an offer at £140-145k) or to wait until another car comes along in a spec you like at a more reasonable price.

For example, when I bought my 570GT I offered £3k below asking and supported that with reference to a similar car at Glasgow. There was no way I was going to give up on their Volcano Orange car for the McLaren Orange example at Glasgow, but it still seemed to me to be a fair reference point to compare to on value.

Identical to mine, Paris Blue with the ultra lightweight wheels. It's a stunning colour and mine always gets positive comments on the colour.

Mine hasn't got any exterior carbon either, when I was looking for one that was my preference. The carbon looks great, but getting stone chips or minor scrapes fixed is much more expensive!

Agree price is a little strong given lack of McLaren warranty, but negotiating on the price is half the fun!
