Going to look at one today,my perfect spec as it’s hot manual seats which is the only hope I’ve got of getting comfortable.. we will see.( Slightly concerned with resale though with that ?).
Otherwise it’s give up time.

Manual seats probably will put some people off (they would me), but I don't think it would be a major issue if the car is good in other ways.

I find my (electric) seats the most comfortable of any car I've owned but it's definitely a personal thing. My other car has manual seats that I can never get right.

Which one are you going to see?

I need manual seats as I’m tall and I sit too high and don’t have enough thigh support with the electric seats.
It’s the black Bols one, very strong money though for not a massive spec’d car ( albeit enough for me).

From experience, if he's selling it - it's going to be a good car

Just swapped out the electric "comfort" seats in my 720s for Artura clubsports.

I know everyone is different but felt I sat on top of the electric comforts and subsequently too high in the car, never managed to get properly settled.

Artura clubsports transformed the car, sat lower ij the car and into the seat and instant comfort without the need to constantly try to adjust to suit.

While my 570GT has electric seats, I had three days in a 570S with the manual seats and was happy with them. I'm the only person driving my car so it should be adjust and forget, and the benefits of manual seats (lower, a bit lighter, simpler) would make them equally desirable to me, esp vs the confusing adjustments of the electrics. So it wouldn't have put me off.

I must admit - after a total of 5 years owning 650s, I still have to randomly try each adjustment switch until I find the one I wanted!

Senna seat touring size were ok in a magnificent 600lt he’s got but that’s way way over my budget unfortunately.

Just swap the seats out, it's 4 bolts, any of the bucket style seats will give you the room.

Always loads of options on ebay. Be cautious though, most of the Artura seats are from l/h drive cars and will trigger an air bag fault. Easy to tell as there is a little pouch on the front of the seat, should be on the r/h one.

I found this out the hard way, fortunately DClass couldn't have been more helpful and removed the covers and swapped the electronics round (occupancy sensor) for circa £350.

Why the trickle charger?
Battery will easily last 3 weeks plus on the drive, an hour's drive will brim it again.
I've owned McLarens for 8 years, never trickle charged, never had a flat battery.
I don't think people actually use "trickle chargers" any more - they've been "Battery Conditioners" for the last 20-odd years, but the name has stuck.

Why? - a mixture of habit, simplicity, and familiarity. The cars have a connector built in (or you can easily add one) and plugging it in takes a moment and is a lot cheaper than fogetting, getting sidetracked, then realising you've left it longer than intended and are looking at a large bill.

I use one for the bikes and laid up car, just need to set it for the correct battery type but tend to put it on for a few days each month.
yup I forgot to connect one in Autumn. Now I am screwed - can't charge via internal port, can't charge via emergency connector, trunklid opening mechanism seems to be broken/can't get to the battery. So car is parked in an underground garage with the steering lock engaged and I can't get it out and as it is lift access I can't even get it towed.
not sure yet how to solve this one, and I need to sell the car, so timing is kinda an issue.
I really hate myself for not solving this when the car was still charged.

Perhaps something like these would enable you to get the car out of the garage…?

thanks, yup I think that will be the solution. Will call the ADAC after the holidays and see if they can get it transported to a dealer. I might not send it to my own dealer though as 2 calls and 1 email over the last 4ish weeks have not led to a response (apart from twice being told somebody will call me back same day....) - useless bds.

Hi MDL111,

I hope that you are keeping well and Happy Easter.

Like the other poster I would recommend that you look at The GoJak website and see if you can find the most suitable of the trolleys that suits your car.

I was first alerted to these trolleys when my Countach was on display at the Beaulieu National Motor Museum’s Supercar Exhibition in 2002/2003.
The car was on display on the 1st floor and access was by a car lift with about 2 inches of horizontal clearance on each side.
And of course you cannot push on the Countach’s 1mm thick aluminium body … only on its wheels and tyres.
Every month the car would be released from its museum captivity to allow me to drive and exercise it - and all this was only possible because of the GoJaks.

I now have my own set because I need to park the cars very close to each other.
In both instances the parking was very tight but the GoJaks worked/work well.

You need to find the GoJak model with the correct height clearance as some will be too high for your car , but they do a very low clearance model.
Ditto you will need to identify one which will support the weight of your car - the GoJaks come in various lift capabilities.

Best of luck and I suspect that these trolleys that the previous poster has already described and posted will get you out of the predicament that you are now in. I just wanted to say that I have used them and they do work. Do keep us informed.

What a bargain .... I'm asking them about their lowest entry trolley jack for a McLaren Artura ... the one I have for my GT3RS doesn't have enough reach so I would have the drive the car tyres onto chocks ... which I would rather not do unless I have to ...

If you are London and need some (underwhelming) extra shove muscle just shout, always happy to help a fellow petrol head.

thank you appreciated. Am in Munich unfortunately with a clearly useless Porsche dealer. One of the more stupid designs of Porsche imo, on the 996 you can access the trunk release cable in the fender, but can't do that on the 997 (or not without taking the wheel and cover off anyway [which I can't do with the stupid center locks].
I'll focus on this and hopefully sort it out next week.

That silver 650 looks amazing - I was not so keen on the design when those were launched but I like it a lot more nowadays. They seem to be a relative bargain.
