I hope you aren't with Lex as they don't allow a connection to the app
That's interesting. I can understand them wanting to make absolutely certain you've wiped the app before you give the car back, but it seems out of order to deprive you of quite a significant bit of functionality.

Fortunately, I'm with Leaseplan, who immediately said they'd send me a letter.

I'm mildly perplexed by the fuel consumption after today!

I had to drop my youngest at Brooklands for a Science day (and in passing, all praise to Babcock for sponsoring and running such a day for Primary school kids, not just Secondary school ones!), then went in to the office in Woking to work before picking him up again, so having arrived there with no charge, I decided to reset the trip computer for the journey home to see what it delivered.

Total journey was 21 miles at an average speed of 22mph, which was a couple of miles on the A3, but otherwise slow urban traffic. The total fuel consumption recorded was 37.8 mpg, which given the size of car, the type of driving and the fact that the engine only has 120 miles on it, I would've considered outstanding.

Where the confusion comes in, though, is that despite starting with no charge, by the time I got home, it was telling me I'd managed 8 miles without the engine!

If I did manage 8 miles without the engine, then that would suggest exceptionally efficient energy recovery, yet at the same time, it would also suggest that I only actually managed about 23 mpg for the miles driven on petrol power, which isn't quite so amazing, although possibly not too bad on a brand new engine.

Overall, mpg for the first 120 miles is sat at 55.6, which isn't to be sniffed at for a car with a sub 6.5 time to 60! biggrin

I think it may be that with a low battery, you are going to be using the engine for the parts of the drive that require a bit more power that would normally be on electric with a good charge. Those, of course, are the least economical parts hence your poor mpg for the miles on petrol. A conventional car would be using minimal fuel for the parts where you are using none, which would bring up the average. All things being equal, the petrol engine is mostly going to be running when it is at its worst, IYSWIM.

Trouble with this car is it makes you obsessive about these things I find.

It's certainly the only car I've had where a suburban commute improves the average mpg after one of those troublesome long runs. hehe

So mine is an estate a little over 1.5Years old with over 47000 miles on it. It gets plugged in at work but never at home as it is a BIK tax purchase not a eco lifestyle choice/ that said I do find the challenge of getting the most from it oddly satisfying on some trips. Average is circa 32mpg

About to fit 4th set of rear tyres as it will chew through these if hustled.

It is not the most polished driving weapon for sure, but I can not see myself going back to Diesel or even pure electric for company cars ever again. Love it.

No niggles or rattles or issues.....touching wood and whistling as I type.

Good going to get through 3 sets of rears in 47k!

My saloon is now on 24k on its original tyres. The estate we have is on 39k also its original tyres. Allowing for winter tyre use i still think we will get 30k out of a set of tyres which is pretty good.

No issues here and agree I can't see either of us going back to diesel.

I'm similar in that I bought it because I could get so much more car for my money thanks to BIK, but even so, doing my local miles on electricity is going to be saving me significant money compared to petrol, so why wouldn't you plug it in at home? Or are you one of those now near-mythical creatures that still has a company fuel card? smile

I have a company fuel card but pay for private mileage. I plug in at home but not worth trying to claim back as electricity not seen as a fuel and gets too complicated. Charging up helps improve overall mpg. I'm averaging 44 mpg since new with 8k so far.
Towed Caravan for the first time. Only disappointment is the low nose weight limit being only 75kg.

So far, I've done 330 miles since delivery.

Of those, 233 are with the engine off, with fuel consumption of 70.6mpg.

That's obviously going to dip driving to La Rochelle and back, but overall, I'd say my driving profile is pretty much spot on for this car! biggrin

I messed up the economy during the early miles by deliberately running it in Sport and going on longer routes from A to B in order to get some miles on the ICE for running in. Did that for the first 1500 miles then reverted to using Comfort most of the time, and of late, I've been tending to use E-Mode for trips I know it can do on battery just so I can relax with the throttle pedal. Left in Hybrid, my heavy footed ways tend to make it fire up the ICE when I don't really need/want it to.

I figured if I left it in Hybrid/Comfort it wouldn't be run in before the first service is due!

Looking at one of these for Mrs Brett - the lead times are still 6months+

Mercedes rep told us that the delay is due to speed of powertrain manufacture...actual spec variations don't seem to impact lead time that much.

So... We have a £45k car which can only display outside temperature on a single screen of the trip computer which nobody would ever use... Seriously????

The early ones didn't even have that!

What bugs me more on that front is the '% battery charge' indicator on the tacho. In the early paperwork, the '0' digit above the regen/electric power bars was actually supposed be a 2 digit display showing battery charge state. I'd fine that more useful more often the OAT personally. Yes, I know you can get that figure displayed a number of ways, but like OAT, I think it should always be on offer in a dedicated display.

I'm camping at the moment, and the car charges perfectly well on our plot.

I do, however, still have to put the car into Sport mode whenever I'm in the campsite, as otherwise I'd have to choose between not moving at all or mowing down lots of French people who've not heard me! hehe

Just ordered a C350e Estate AMG Line Premium Plus - rather looking forward to receiving it in a month.

Went with Selenite Grey, and the lease barely changed going from premium to the premium plus - anyone else have the Burmester system?

Currently scheming to find a way of charging it at home, work is easy as my boss has a Tesla 75D and is really into EVs :-). Might even make me MOT the MX5 to get space in the back to park it.... Stranger things have happened.

Went with Selenite Grey and PP as well. The Burmester seems pretty good to me. I think the PP is a good upgrade really, gets you a good bundle of extras.

I've got the Premium Plus. The sound system does sound good, although from memory, the standard system on the test drive wasn't at all bad either.

The satnav is definitely much better, but it's still nowhere near as good as Google Maps on your phone. I'm really not sure why manufacturers don't just do a deal with Google?

Trim levels aside, I drove over 600 miles through France on Sunday, and I really can't imagine a more comfortable place to do it! biggrin

Does anyone else get really variable charging from their car?

I find I can see an indicated range of anything between 10 to 15 miles after charging the car overnight and getting the phone message to tell me charging is complete.

I've only had the car since July, so it's not a hot vs cold weather thing.

The range is based on the previous trips the car has made. Ignore it and just make sure you are on 100%. It's impossible to give an accurate range. Is your next journey going to be uphill, downhill, fully loaded, fast, slow? It can't be predicted. It's only the same as a trip computer on a normal car. If you are cruising at 50 in top gear it will say you have 400 miles range. If you are on a test track flat out at top speed it will say you have 100 miles range. It just seems more extreme with electric because the numbers are smaller to start with.

I did a journey this week. Mixed urban and A-roads so probably ideal for this car. Starting off with 12 miles range. At the end I had done 39 miles and of those 16 were with the engine off, so maybe we should look at range retrospectively after a journey, and not before?! wobble

Referring to an earlier post I've got the Premium Plus too. Think it makes a big difference to the car. I'm not a music person particularly so I don't know how good the music system is. I like the speaker grills though. biggrin
