Car readout goes to refuel with about 50-60miles remaining. If you check the app it continues to show you fuel % and I think distance right down to single figures.
The car lights go to 1 solid bar, 1 flashing bar and then no bars.
I have parked up on flashing bar a couple of times and the car has refused to start stating refuel immediately electric only.
If I get very slow I switch to charging for a bit of safety. My record is 47.05lts in the 50ltr tank. Caution though, as one of the estates at work cut out and it must have had c5ltr still in the tank....

Surely you’re just using fuel to charge rather than propel you? It really p1sses me off when it gets low on fuel and decides you now don’t need to know how many miles you have left. Surely this is when you need it most. The app does still show it, but if you are driving it’s not safe to check. I do long drives often and had a couple of twitchy moments hoping to make it to a garage. The car lights go to 1 solid bar, 1 flashing bar and then no bars.

I don’t like the fact the blocks get larger up the fuel gauge. With 3 blocks remaining at a glance it looks like you’re very low on fuel when in fact there’s a quarter of a tank left.
I’ve never been able to put more than £35 worth of petrol in mine yet because I end up filling up early.

Saw a reference on the MB forum to an Autocar article about the facelift C class and the new C400E. Looks like a decent incremental improvement all round.
Of course, it makes me wish I hadn't bought mine when I did........

Does anyone else wish the charging would kick in a little more aggressively when you lift your foot off the accelerator?
I was reading another thread where someone with a straight EV said they rarely use the brakes at all except for the last few yards, as the regeneration kicked in aggressively enough to slow the car without them needing to brake.
I feel as though on our cars they've missed a trick to get significantly more distance just on battery as a result...

Have you tried it in ECO mode? In traffic you can almost come to a stop without the brakes. Be careful though as the brake lights don’t illuminate. I think they’ve got the right balance as in HYBRID mode it will allow you to coast conventionally, but with some small regeneration. If you can’t coast you have to be using some power all the time...

Ooh, I hadn't thought of that! I shall try it out in the way home. I think they’ve got the right balance as in HYBRID mode it will allow you to coast conventionally, but with some small regeneration. If you can’t coast you have to be using some power all the time...

Lifting off on the flat at 30, I don't even get a single green light on. It felt like it would run for miles before eventually stopping! I'm starting to wonder if there's something wrong with it!
I don't suppose anyone else has one anywhere near Epsom that I could compare with?
ECO is weird, and I should have explained this better last night. When you are above a certain speed it coasts very freely indeed (as you found out). I can only think it disengages drive so it can freewheel. However at low speeds it doesn't e.g. in crawling traffic it really slows quite dramatically - to the point where I think the brake lights should activate.
If you are wanting green lights at speed, leave it in Hybrid and coast. If you are coming up to a stop, brake gently from a long way out. You will see the % going back up.

The Agility Select mode influences regeneration on the C350e.
In Sport+ it's actually quite aggressive - I had a short blast, probably about 3 miles along a twisty back road on my way home the other night and gained 9% in battery charge! Of course in Sport and Sport+ it will never turn off the engine.
Comfort Mode is very light regen - you'll generally see 1 green square unless you're going quite fast.
Eco mode does indeed disengage the engine to allow the car to effectively freewheel. Using this with a pulse and glide throttle input is the best way to maximise pure electric range. Eco mode also has another trick though - it uses the collision detection radar in the front grille to control regeneration, so if there's a slowing vehicle in front of you it will increase regeneration to slow you down. Be warned though, its not designed to bring you to a complete stop and it will activate the autonomous emergency braking if you don't brake which is pretty harsh if you're not expecting it.
The brake pedal will activate regen first before applying the mechanical brakes. You can gain a bit more electricity back if you brake longer and lighter to reduce speed. Try not to light up the final charge block on the gauge.

Interesting post, thanks. This is what I was experiencing but hadn't realised it was via the radar. I'd assumed it was a "below a certain speed" thing. Does anyone else find their C350e a bit tail happy when its cold and damp?
Mine is on the 17" Sport wheels with Hankook tyres and I've had the back end step right out several times. One was certainly a situation of my own making in Sport+ mode when I mashed the power with a bit of steering on, but I've the rears spin up on the motorway at 60mph when I put my foot down once, and it went again last night when I took off from some lights and turned right - I wasn't even going particularly fast and the car was in Comfort mode.

Very unhappy today.
my business lease folks have told me that MB are no longer taking orders for the C350e as the current model is due for replacement later this year. I have to re-order when the new pricing is available sometime mid 2018. So, I might not get one until 2019!
Given that I want an estate hybrid in a certain price range, I don't have much choice.

That's a shame. The new C400e sounds very impressive. Can you not put your name on one and hope the price is right?
What about a Passat? I think they do an estate in that.
I just don't want a Passat, I could get one fully loaded with my allowance, it just doesn't appeal. What about a Passat? I think they do an estate in that.
Our ordering system is through Lex, it knows my pay grade so will only show me cars that are available at retail, not discounted prices.
