Another day, another jaunt out with work.

Hi - I'm struggling to understand the 99.9 miles / kwh figure in your image?Chester, Birmingham, Peterborough, Chester
Overall mpg is up to 41.9 over 13k miles
Is that to say you have achieved over 100 miles/kwh, because you drive on petrol majority of the time and therefore you don't use much electric?
I've driven a Renault Zoe which achieves 4.5miles/kwh, so this makes no sense to me. Anyone?
Thanks.
PS - Expecting my car at the dealer next week

Once on the motorway I then put the car into SAVE mode and recharged. One back up to 85%, it was then into Auto eDrive.
Once off the M6 in Birmingham it was into max eDrive.
I tend to cycle the batteries to charge when I’m at motorway speeds, then max or auto eDrive at lower speeds or stop start traffic.
I’ve seen a 2mpg improvement on the overall average, over the last 3k miles or so.
Re the 99 miles per kWh, yes I think this is issuing not a lot electric in comparison with the ICE running...

Got in the car tonight and had a low coolant warning. Couldn’t work out what the levels were on the coolant bottles as they are solid black, plus it was dark, so off to the dealer in the morning. Fortunately I’ve enough electric power to get me there!
Same warning for me the other week.If you look down the filler neck, there is a static gauge inside the bottle.
Just fill with coolant until the top of the marker is covered.

Does anyone know the answer to this or not hence overlooking the question.
In my 530e, the electric motor assists the ICE sometime when it is fired up while driving. So the ICE is not given full load before it is warmed up a little at least. And yes, you should not warm the engine by idling...1. Lubricants all moving round the engine
2. sat nav directions input
3. Music selected
4. Perfect temp selected.

It seems to be a “characteristic” of this particular model, as both I and a work colleague with the same car have both had the “low coolant” warning in the first 10k miles..

Does anyone know how to turn up The brightness of the interior lights ?
It’s near on impossible to see stuff in the back, the front is a little better but stilll not great.
Thanks
There is a dial near the light swtiches and also under settings lighting on the idrive. Turn them both up.It’s near on impossible to see stuff in the back, the front is a little better but stilll not great.

Has anyone done any coding on this model?
It's something I never got round to doing on my 520d but there are various things I'd like to change when I get my 330e, such as enabling eco-pro by default, high beam assistant, and cruise control in 'ready' mode rather than having to select it every time. I'm sure there would be more to consider also. I always seem to have to press loads of buttons to get things as I want every time I start the car!

- turn off radio on opening door
- door handle LEDs on while in reverse
- side mirror closing immoderately on lock
- Easy Access on the drivers side, where the electric seat goes back to make it easier to get into/out the car
Very easy using the bimmercode app and the wifi OBD adapter. Probably the best £45 I ever spent on a car.
Tyre Review - Yes 3 types !
For 15,000 miles (from new) my 330e has Bridgestone Potenzas on.
Then in error for 2 weeks I have had Goodyear Efficient Grips
Finally when the lease company have got their act together I have now got Goodyear Eagle Asymmetric 3’s
Differences
Noise
Bridgestones by far the loudest of the 3 tyres. Then Eagles, Efficient Grip the quietest.
Ride Comfort
Efficient Grip the best, then Potenza’s, Eagles least comfortable. Efficient Grips feel supple. Eagles are firm to crashy on some surfaces.
Driving
The front end always felt understeery (light) on the car from new (Potenzas) where as my old 3 series turned in very well. Both Goodyear tyres made a massive difference to this, inspiring confidence, front end feeling more planted + slightly more feedback in the steering.
On both set of Goodyear’s the car turns through the corner with more confidence and ‘tucks in’ in a way the Potenzas couldn’t.
Efficient Grip v Eagle - the Efficient Grips become a bit wollowy and squidgy when pushed so you can’t quite tell if the edge of grip is near. The Eagles remain balanced (firm)
Exiting a corner I think I actually prefer the Potenzas in a weird way. They actually let go quicker than the Eagles in a balanced controlled way. I wouldn’t push the Efficient Grip in the same way due to the lack of feedback. Pushing the Eagles the inside tyre tends to loose grip in tighter corners whilst the outer retains grip (lack of LSD) and probably confirming Eagles have more grip than the Potenzas.
So overall that leaves me thinking the Potenzas are a distant 3rd, too noisy and no turn in.
As to which is first or second depends on how you drive your car.
If you like to push on through the bends, definitely the Eagles (although they can be a bit crashy over potholes)
If you are in it for comfort then the Efficient Grips were quiet and had a nice supple ride.
Oh and if your lease is through Automtive Leasing like mine, god help you! 1st attempt they turned up with the wrong size tyres. Second attempt they fitted the Efficient Grips, 3rd time lucky they fitted the Eagles !

Thanks for that. I've found the adaptor on Amazon which I've ordered. Great stuff, just what I need!
You bought the iCar2 wifi adapter and not the bluetooth one, right? Just be aware that certain settings get reset - the ones I noticed were the 1-8 memory buttons, trip odometer, pre-conditioning timers, and the electric range guessometer (back to the initial optimistic 29 miles in my case).
What spec and age 330e do you have?

I've ordered an M-Sport Shadow Edition in Estoril Blue, delayed the delivery until next March as my PCP for my 520d runs out then. I've ordered the iCar2/Bimmercode app now as there are various options I'd like to set in the 5 Series, which I've wanted to do since I got it! Better late than never!
Edit, I noticed the 'expert mode' only seems to be available on the iOS version of the Bimmercode App. Fortunately I have a iPad as well as my Android phone so will use the iOS version..
