I’m hopefully getting mine in the next couple of weeks and I’m pretty excited. I’m coming from a F10 M5 which I had for 3 years which was used mostly for my 12 mile commute resulting in £80 a week fuel bills.

My charger is being fitted next week and we have one in work so I’m hoping I’m not going to have to visit petrol stations quite as much..

Is 12 miles realistic in stop start city driving?

Btw this thread is what made me look at the 330e as it wasn’t really on my radar so thanks all.

You should just about do the 12 miles in city low gear traffic, even more so with the weather picking up. As long as you charge both ends, you'll hardly use any petrol. I drive into and out of the city (about a 10 mile round trip) with pretty bad traffic and have been left with about 20-30% battery over the winter.
I’ve achieved 18-22 miles on a nice traffic free run across city with a few traffic light stops.
If your paying for your mileage and plan on charging at home every day, I would definitely look at finding the best electric tariff, best out there are around the 10p kW that would work out around the 70p a charge.

Hey all. Ordered my 330e M Sport 10 weeks ago and it is arriving on Monday!! Absolutely delighted and expected it to be delayed rather than come early!! Ordered just a few extras to keep it within my budget as they are as follows:

Sunset Orange (which seemed a good idea at the time and I’m hoping I’ll love it ok but have the wobbles a bit about it)
Split folding seats (standard now I believe)
Privacy glass
Sliding armrest

My previous long term car was the Golf GTE which I enjoyed until I put it into the back of someone 🙈!

Had looked at getting the same again but bad memories lol and also probably a bit too small for me now.

I’m very excited, had a test car out for a day a few months ago and it felt much more ‘normal’ than the GTE, was pretty quick and felt like a great driving Bimmer. Have previously owned a couple of 3 series and a Z4 coupe but haven’t had a BMW for about 6 years now so delighted to be coming home!!

Sounds great Giz, 70p is quite a difference!

Same here and the same feeling as well...

What wheels did you opt for, I went for Orbit grey hoping they would go well with the privacy glass (?).

Post up a few pictures when it arrives and let me know your thoughts on the colour please...

Today’s jolly, Brighton to Chester, started the day with 40% charge, used SAVE mode on the motorway, then AUTO.

I don’t use save mode at all but tend to put my destination in the sat nav and then let auto work out what’s best. Recent 212mile trip at a speed of high fifties gave me 46mpg.

Hello all,

Happy to find this topic on PH as am a frequent visitor of the forum. I'm pretty sure I've a lot to catch up on here with but for the time being there are some issues I'd like to share with you after owning a 330e for about two months...

In my case the app kind of sucks. Even though I've booked the Connected Drive, Connected+, eDrive, online, map update and RTTI services the app only works as an expensive extended tool of the SatNav. The only operating enabled features are: send destination to the car and checking the fuel level and range. Not cool...

After many calls to the connected drive support line they decided to tell me that the car cannot be configured to add the remote services or Apple CarPlay preparation due to the way the car was built at factory (sounds like BS for me) so I just stopped using the app as it is a complete disappointment. Has anyone faced a similar problem?

Apart from that, the car is solid and performs really well IMO. I am very happy with it, it's pity the service from my dealer in Dublin doesn't match the values from the BMW brand.

Cheers,

Cheers,

I had the same problem with the app when mine was delivered in January. Remote services hadn’t been added to the account online. A couple of phone calls later and it was sorted. Now it has more functionality in the app.

I’ve also enquiries about adding Apple car play but this can’t be done (hardware changes are needed I believe)

For reference mine is a January 18 build Shadow Edition

Well mine has been delayed further from 9th March to 9th April to 23rd April to 31st May!

On a brighter note BMW have authorised a courtesy car from today - 18 plate X540e

Won't be chasing the dealer for a while clap

Had a similar problem (Shadow Edition, August 2017 build). No remote services on my account -- BMW were very perplexed and ultimately had to escalate the matter to Germany. Finally got the remote services added after five weeks of back and forth. Don't let them off the hook, Tutosky! You're entitled to these services.

Otherwise enjoying the car hugely. Charging at home and work and haven't been to a petrol station since February. Slightly disappointed in the number of dash rattles and wind noise from driver's side door, though.

Thanks for the encouragement sevensevenmx and flearoy! I was just over the phone with them and they will liaise with Germany this afternoon to try to solve the issue for once and for all... will wait and see.

I'm getting the rattle you mention on the drivers door as well, it seems to reduce considerably when the suspension is on sport (hard mode) and is noticeable on bumpy roads only not over the motorway. It seems to me that some plastic bits became loose inside the door. I visually inspected the door and its frame but there's nothing loose from the outside...

Does the 330e come with adaptive suspension now then? My car is 2 years old and I would have loved adaptive but it was not an option when ordering.

No it’s not available on the 330e still, maybe they meant the gearbox setting

I thought the sport and sport+ mode was having a direct effect not only on the steering but in the M Sport Suspension as well. It seems that's not the case as the M Sport Sus (S704A option) is a passive suspension instead of an active one, I stand corrected!

In any case I feel the overall car ride softens (not only the weigh on the steering or the gearbox change setting) in Eco Pro compared to Sport and Sport+ and the harder the ride gets the less rattling I perceive from the door...

So 900 miles in and BMW have only now activated remote services.... thanks to the advice here I was able to tell them exactly what they needed to do. Bit of a joke on a 40k car.

Still haven’t managed to get office 365 working as yet..

Otherwise it’s just the best car I’ve had. Commuting on 100% electric is so satisfying and then giving it the beans at the weekend gives me the best of both worlds!!

HK sound system is immense. Such an achievement to get this level of sound in a car.

Talking of which I do miss hearing an engine!

I just need a caterham in the garage and my life is complete..

Happy motoring.

Posted in the 530e thread but as there's more traffic here thought I'd as here as well;

Just done my long(ish) trip (120miles) and the battery is flat. I've set it to maintain the charge at 90% but it hasnt. How do you force it to charge?

If it’s the same as a 330e- Save Mode- although as far as I’m aware there is no setting on the 330e to maintain a charge at 90%.
Just leave mine on Auto and charge at home
