Just had a good trip out to the east coast, air con active all the way.
105 mile return trip gave me 40.5 mpg, speed limit on A and B roads but 75-80 on motorway.
Going there this morning with full.charge gave me 48mpg.
Quite happy with that

For what type of journey?
In the desert with a light tale wind at the top of a long hill smile.

I'm recently seeing 16-17 miles in the UK's variable climate and terrain!

laugh

On a (sort of) related note, has anyone noticed a reduction in power after a longer period of full throttle (on battery)? I'm only talking maybe 40 seconds or so; there's a part of my commute where you have to slow for a junction, then accelerate out of a 40 limit, then up a hill, so all of that can be at full throttle. Just at the top of the hill after that 40 second period, even though I stayed at full throttle, it seemed to reduce power a little, so couldn't maintain speed (60, err, ish). I've not noticed it again since but I wonder if the battery was getting warm, so couldn't give full power.

Oil Changes.

im up to 2500 miles in mine now. just over half done on electric, averaging about 63mpg.

thinking about the number of cold starts these engines do whats the wider vibe on oil changes? 20k seems a long time.

Sorry, I'm seeing 26 miles range once I charge it. Real world I'm getting around 20 miles with climate off and all the interior stripped out for added weight saving

That's awesome, must be near perfect conditions. Stripping out the interior would certainly help, I may try that. Do I leave the drivers seat in or what?

I find masking tape stuck down around various strategic parts of the car can add 1.3-1.6 extra miles.

Make sure you disable anything else electric. Turn the lights off. Even the ones lighting the dash. Radio off, no air con. Think you'll be all set then.

Delivered at last. Very impressive indeed! Seems much faster than the demonstrator 330e I had around Christmas.

160 miles which was 80% motorway and left with full.charge resulted in 55mpg

Same journey back without full charge and some traffic and diversions resulted in 45mpg.
Blooming chuffed with that

I'd take it out only if you have a giraffe neck as you won't be able to see over the bonnet

So, a month in and here's some observations.....

Absolutely love the car, best bits:
Acceleration
Not diesel
Sound of silence
Sound of the HK
The 19" alloys look the business
The looks
Acceleration again
IDrive
Esotril blue
250bhp
40+mpg in petrol mode
99+mpg daily during commute

The draw backs

Wishing I had took the professional media option
The app

Thoughts

There is nothing like the sound of Baba O'reilly (The Who) full blast, whilst bombing along a country lane, racing the 21yr old in his Golf Gti, leaving him stunned at a junction as I pulled away smile

But total buyers remorse not adding the professional media package, apparently a lot of the mileage tracking features, such as average mpg (above 99mpg) only come with professional.
Sounds like I'm following your lead a little here as I've also chosen Estoril Blue plus HK. Also gone with comfort pack and reversing cam.

Didn't order the pro media either; I felt I couldn't justify another £900 of extras on what is ultimately a company car that I'll have for 4 years before some jammy swine buys it for a steal with the extras included.

I have also read that much of the automated and efficient use of electric across your journey depends upon the use of the pro. Also interesting that most reviews raving about the nav making best use of electric don't clarify this only works with the pro nav. That does suck somewhat but I'm still struggling with the idea of spending all that extra dosh upfront to get that feature (yes I know there are other benefits to the pro media option). I chose better sound over flashier and bigger display as I like my music and have Bose in the current vehicle.

I guess we'll just have to get used to finding the best way to drive it without relying on the nav.

...right now I'd just be happy to get the bloody car. Waited 2 months and still got another 3 month wait....could've had the soddin Outlander by now (yes I know - it's the old man option lol).

I do not have pronav, still see no need for it and my spec is basically the same as yours with m+. And 11 months in I now find the best way to drive the car is to ignore any thoughts of automated and efficient use of electric, simply use the power and every feature the car has. The novelty is certainly there in the beginning and takes over your thinking but the battery is not made for such efforts imo and experience. Don't get me wrong, I still charge it when convenient (free chargepoint) and it does not lose me time but at the end of the day, a full battery effectively takes you for the weekly shop in a 330e.

I have tried the options, using save mode before entering cities and drive in electric thereafter and quite often now I run the car keeping the 90% charge continually (as someone posted earlier in the thread). I tend to be around 40 / 42 mpg regardless of just driving in auto, saving then using charge or keeping the car in save mode. Any time I charge obviously increases the mpg but unless you are doing a lot of local journeys with charging available, convenient and if possible free, the savings are minimal. And I do realise I say that as someone who runs it as a cc with fuel card, but if mpg and economy were the only aims, a £40k 330e would not be the car.

The all round advantages lie elsewhere, it is a 250hp bmw so no point detracting from it. So my everchanging 330e driving tips now are: ditch the jacket, the duct tape, turn on the air con, up the HK volume and make the most of it. Works for me but I appreciate we all have very different ideas driving

I'm coming up for 8000 miles on mine and the oil service as drop to 13000 think it goes of how you drive and the miles your doing

It's basically the same engine as in the 320i named the B48. Some people are quoting its a twin turbo, but i don't believe that's the case , but it does have twin power technology , what ever that means.? That said, it does produce a healthy 181hp for the 330e although they are making them with an output of 254hp in the 730 and slighty less in the 330 and with various torque ratings, The Mini even has versions . It does makes you wonder if it's easy to improve the 330e further with some tuning?

Hi all. Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere but can someone advise as to the total range in the 330e? I appreciate its dependant on driving style but specifically, would I get 2x 160 mile motorway journeys with one full charge for each journey I.e. 320 miles in total. I'm hoping I'd get this range in petrol alone and the charging would be just a bonus. Hope someone can help. Thanks!
