1) I'm sure there are further differences mainly interior finishes/ touches. Certainly the Sport doesn't come with the brilliant Msport steering wheel (although always an option to spec one).
Don't think it's an option to upgrade to an MSport steering wheel - that is exclusive to the MSport.

Hi Guys, and apologies if you have seen this elsewher

I currently have a 1.4 SEAT Leon on lease through work which ends in January 18. Am looking at the 330e next (have to order by late August as 20 weeks lead time is quoted) and was wondering if I could seek your help / advice on a few things

1) What is the difference between mSport and Sport specifications, looks on the list to be suspension and leather seating (mSport is extra £20 PCM so if that is it I may just go sport)
M Sport has the more aggressive bumpers too.

2) I am after the HUD upgrade which is contained in the professional media plus package. does this still have the 10" screen from the professional media package or does it revert to the original 6.5" nav?
You will get the 10" screen and all the other features from the professional media package.

cdms811 said:
3) Most of my journeys will be within a 10 mile radius of base, I have read varying estimates of electric range, in the experience of 330e users is all electric feasible?
It depends entirely on your style of driving and the type of journey, if you were happy to inconvenience other road users with very delicate acceleration and keep speeds to 40mph you might get 20 miles, however in reality I`d suggest 15-16 miles per charge is achievable. Well, that's what I get on my commute of 50mph B-roads broken up by a few roundabouts.

cdms811 said:
4) I have a standard 3 pin socket just inside my garage (house is around 10 years old) would this likely be sufficient for charging?
It will be fine, I charge mine using the exact same method. There have been a couple of times when a quick charger would be far more convenient though, so I am looking at getting one installed this year. If I had a regular need to charge more than once a day, I would definitely have got one by now.

5) Torn between the Msport with Professional Media plus (for the HUD) and HK Audio packs and the Msport Shadow edition since both are roughly the same price. Basically choice between the HUD and 19 inch rims with sun protection glass, any of you had experience with the HUD?
I have the 19's, tinted glass and HK. Don't have the HUD but tried it out and it is very good. HK is definitely worth getting.

Ordered my 330e 3 weeks ago via Zenith leasing (company car).

Today, I received my date of delivery.... 27th November! That's mental in my eyes, never waited this long for a car before... But I get that seems normal! I'm fully expecting that will be later than suggested as well!

One of my colleagues ordered his car on the same day as me, 330e m sport, but no options... His date is 30th October. That's a month longer on mine to put different wheels on!

Anyway, ordered the 330e M sport, mineral grey, 19" 403M, and M sort brake upgrade. Still excited.

Mines very similar without the M Sport Brakes, had the HK instead.
This is what it will look like..........

Cheers! Can't complain smile

One query don't know if you or anyone else knows but I don't seem to have voice control for phoning people etc. I see there is a button for it on the steering wheel but when pressed it's does sweet nothing!. Should it work or do BMW sell this functionality seperately?

If it's not provided as standard can it be coded using the old E Sys solution?

So my 330e after 2 months of happy driving is at the dealers frown

Charging up Sat off the 3Pin i noticed the rate of charge was slower than usual...but thought nothing of it. Sunday it charges for about 10mins then it trips the plug and the RCD on our main consumer unit. Long story short...after the trip the car will now no longer accept power from any external power source. Maybe when the RCD tripped it triggered some fail safe on the car to stop accepting power till it's checked out?

All that would happen is when plugged in the charging port would pulse orange and then red, with the dash saying one of 2 warning
1- Mains power supply too low (it isn't - had socket checked by electrician)
2- Unable to charge

Hoping to hear from the dealer (Rybrook Wolverhampton) tomorrow. They seemed really willing to help and are looking at a few niggles i have with the car while they have it in.

Will update if i hear anything. Going on holiday Friday so hope to have it back by then!
Exactly the same issue here.
Local dealers don't have a loaner car until 1st August so will have to be driven without charging until then. Car needs to be booked in for 3 days.
I have a rolec wall charger that I usually have it hooked to. Tried it with the cable that came with the car but that also does not charge, just get the glowing red ring after the orange light. Have had the car for just over a year and covered over 11,000 miles with almost have on electric.

Hey guys, finally got my email to order my new car, replacing a 520d SE auto, when I last looked at the company scheme the only e car available was the 330e, well they have added the 530e to the mix.

So here is my dilemma, I can get either a 530e SE in Blue Stone Met and the only upgrade I can spec is high been assist averaged over the 4 years including BIK its approx £312 a month all in.

Or a 330e M-Sport Alpine white, HK upgrade, Professional Media Upgrade, Heated & folding mirrors, Sun Protection Glass, Heated Front seats, M-Sport brakes, 18 V Orbit Grey alloys about £296 per month averaged including 40% BIK. ( now have to point out the 530e has professional media and heated seats as standard)

Which one would you opt for ?

Yep, mine doesn't work either....(Boggo 330e Sport here).

It seems to have the voice control, you need to spec it as an option, via enhanced BT for £430.

IIRC I've seen a few places offering to code it, but not sure if this gives full activation?

Edit to add:

If you have an iPhone, the handfree button on the wheel will activate Siri, from which you can operate most phone functions. Just doesn't work with a crappy Samsung G4!

Personally, I like the 5 series and this would be without a doubt if you could have the M Sport, but as with us, it is the SE.
Yes the 5 series is a nice looking motor and looks classier, but the cost of the 330e M Sport with all the goodies is a no brainer IMO.
Also, there will be the shadow edition coming soon so may be worth holding off a little longer (also bear in mind the F3X series will be changing soon for the 2018 model).

Cant wait! This thread has been really interesting, wish I'd read it prior to ordering (no split rear seats on mine)

Well the button has been pressed. Order has been placed for a 330e Msport Shadow Edition to be delivered at the end of current lease (20 weeks lead time estimated but will be 26 weeks when lease ends)

I had the same thought process for replacing my company Merc.

I had a new 520d for an extended weekend test drive and whilst the tech in the car was impressive I found the drive just a little too dull and crucially I didn’t find myself making excuses to get back out to take it for a spin.

I discounted the 330e due to the lack of practicality with the boot (I have a c250 saloon at the moment and needed something bigger / more flexible) but if it works then I’d say the ride will be more engaging.

Big question...If you’re keeping it for four years will you be kicking yourself that the interior of the 3 will be quite old by the end of your cycle and wishing you’d gone new style 5?

Slightly different dilemma

330e sport with a few option HK, sun protection, 18in wheels
520d se efficient dynamics as it comes

As I'm looking at it from a money saving thing from my current A5 as we have another kid coming so need 2 boosters and a baby seat.

If they fit in the 5 I don't need to buy another "family" car for the wife, if not then use the BIK saving on the 330e to put towards her bigger car and using that for holidays and family days out.

My only issue is the older design does look a bit dated now in the 3, also can't spec the proffesional nav and get hk.
Had an e90 and the sound system was awful, coming from an Audi B&O I don't want to go back to that!

Works on mine with iPhone 6. Acts as a Siri button - it's a long press to activate though. I have standard navigation and no media / phone options other than HK

Nice dilemma to have but a tough choice to make. No split folding seats on the 330e quote ? Would price the comfort pack which has the wonderful heated steering wheel, heated front seats, sliding armrest and split folding rear seats. On my quote it added very little compared to the split folding seats as a solo option so might be the same with the heated seats.

I find that company car lists and restrictions always present one compromise too far... I think I’d go for the 5 in your situation (assuming the contributions were in the same ballpark).

If you can do it in one car then why go for the additional expense and potential bills of another car on the drive. The 5 felt very spacious both in the front and the rear - might be worth checking the CarWow video review on practicality if you haven’t already seen it. They give an objective look over the important things.

Good luck and much fun with the shopping. I decided against both of them and went with my wild card option (but that’s got an HK stereo and 49 gm/k so it’s all good)

Standard system works fine with voice control on any android phone guys, you just need to turn on Google voice on your phone, and allow actions from Bluetooth connected devices, I've had my 330e over a year (standard HiFi) and have used several android phones, also setup few of my colleagues.

Once setup you just hold the steering wheel voice button and can call, txt, navigate etc

Thanks for the reply, I've got a 5 on loan in a few weeks so will see how I get on with the seating :-)
