Now nearly 8 months on and 11000 miles in and I love this car.
Good mpg on long runs and a beaut to drive.
Only thing is now im only seeing 18 miles max once charged and use to get 26 miles.
The cold weather hits battery performance quite hard and this should rise when the temperatures do.

Thanks for the reply mate. So does the Business Advanced Nav not do the thing where it automatically changes the mode dependant on the type of route?
It does - but only for single trips. So for example you can't put in a journey to and from work and let it work out the optimum electric use taking into account the return leg.

For me it's not a big deal the way my commute works out anyway, and not sure how much of a faff it is putting in multi step journeys if you have pro nav

I thought that business nav specifically didn't use the route to guide it how to use the ICE and battery most efficiently. That was my understanding of pro nav: it will look at the route, and look at urban areas etc. and plan to use battery more in those segments. I haven't done enough longer trips to determine though.

What I can say though is that pro nav also doesn't do anything sensible with multi-destination trips. It takes the first waypoint as your destination, and will use battery based on that - I guess making an assumption that you'll be able to charge when you stop. Rather short-sightedley I might add.

The only way I know of to get it to do all of a return trip, or indeed any multi-destination trip, is to use MyRoutes or whatever it's called. You have to set start and destination quite close together, and then drag the route to include your actual destination. It treats this as a turning point rather than a waypoint: a way of telling it which route to use basically.

Another poster, can't remember who, said the car seemed to learn if you do a regular commute and didn't charge at one end, and left about half the battery for the return leg.

This is obviously an important aspect of using the car economically, and one of the prime reasons for my specifying pro nav on my order.
Has anyone got a definitive guide to planning routes/return journeys that they have found to work consistently please?

I’m still waiting for my 330e. It should be with me end Feb 18. It’s a company car and replaces my most loved one ever. The 116d, practical and cheap. It’s as quick as any car I used to dre@m about in 84. But In recent months the sat nav has gone a bit batty. I now almost completely ignore it in London where I live , and sanity check it with a map on longer journeys.

Low temperatures really take miles off that battery, I lost about 30% range at 2 degrees. Even preconditioning didn't seem to help.

Bit annoying, but apart from that the car`s been great for the first 6,5k miles.

Trip to Disneyland Paris next week, will be good to get a longer run under the belt. Any suggestions on the best mode to use? I was just going to leave it in auto Edrive..

Nope but I don't think it's really needed. If you know you're going into an urban area then use SAVE mode to charge enough battery for use round town, otherwise just use AUTO.

Was expecting my car to be delivered this week. Now due wk 49 (w/c 4/12). Delay blamed on Christmas...!!! Heard of some excuses in my time!!! redface This was on the Genius chat.

Waiting for dealer to make contact...
I was told by BMW Genius delivery to dealer mid Oct, and have now been told w/c 4th Dec. Excuse was a rush of orders in September. Not sure how that can affect my delivery date considering it was ordered in June unless BMW prioritise certain orders and push others back to facilitate this.
It seems to be quite a trend with these cars. I have just got back from a week away to find that I have another message from my lease company now saying it is now due the 15th December. Quite a delay from an original delivery mid October after ordering in July. I am not holding my breath and if I get it before Xmas that will be a real present. Perhaps BMW weren't lying when they said that Santa is impacting production.

For those of you who have recently ordered I would suggest holding back on that excitement as it appears to be a long wait for your car.

Similar for me, ordered in June was initially told early October delivery, changed to mid November and now expected week 48/49. Seems like car is now past production and waiting in ports but the estimated delivery is about 2 months off initial date given.

Ordered July with a estimated delivery date of 23 October.
Arrived at dealers on 6th November- wait of 10 days to have telematics fitted - Was to be delivered to me on 13th until someone realised it had the wrong upholstery (dealer cock up)- black cloth instead of Red Coral Leather!
Should be another couple weeks before the interior is changed!

If you bank on 6 months the you are less likely to be disappointed. If it arrives early it would be a bonus in my opinion.

From what I can tell, and from speaking to BMW the sat Nav has bugger all effect on use of battery. It’s the single biggest failure of the car, and quite a big one. It got to the stage where BMW refused to answer my questions about it. You simply can use the Sat Nav to preserve battery, and way points do not work

..and yet others say it does work! Personally I can't imagine the difference between setting way points and dragging the route about. Is the answer to somehow create a single round-trip route (for a return journey) without any way points at all - but how do you do that?!!

HI

Had my Chargemaster fitted yesterday in anticipation of the car arriving in December, although likely to be January at the earliest since the Lex update yesterday!

As I went for the untethered Chargemaster, where is the best place people have been buying charging cables from?

Thanks

Matt

Hi Matt,

I needed a longer cable so I got my from EV OneStop online. The delivery was quick and painless with no issues. The cable is good and is a 32a type 2 to type 2 (10m length). The cost was less than a standard BMW 5m cable from what I can recall. There are other length cables available on the website.

Hope this helps

According to Genius my car is at Port of Exit and I should expect delivery 3rd week in Dec. Seems to be quite some delay between sat at the port and being delivered.

For others with a 330e on a PCH, do you know if I HAVE to replace with RFL tyres? Front's need replacing (21k so pretty good!) and normally I wouldn't bother with RFL again but don't want to get told off when I hand it back. It's not mentioned in the contract so I guess I'm safe? BMW won't care presumably.

I would imagine it has to be RFTs, same as when you got it to be honest.

I'd expect they wont care. Would they complain if tyres were a different brand?
